Texas Mile Anyone???

about 175-180 im guessing. depends on the setup. i remember a member here setting his up for the mile run. i THINK he managed 180's

Transmission 6-speed manual
Final-drive ratio 4.11:1, limited slip
Gear Ratio Mph/1000 rpm Max test speed
I - 2.66 - 8.3 - 50 mph (6000 rpm)
II - 1.78 - 12.4 - 74 mph (6000 rpm)
III - 1.30 - 17.0 - 102 mph (6000 rpm)
IV - 1.00 - 22.1 - 133 mph (6000 rpm)
V - 0.74 - 29.8 - 153 mph (5100 rpm)
VI - 0.50 - 44.2 - 153 mph (3500 rpm)

Okay, some quick conversions for 4.56 gears.
I - 44.5 mph @ 6000rpm
II - 65.9 mph @ 6000rpm
III - 90.8 mph @ 6000rpm
IV - 118.4 mph @ 6000rpm
V - 153 mph = 5726rpm (160.3 mph @ 6000rpm)
VI - 153 mph = 3930rpm (6000rpm in sixth? To damn fast)

For 4.88's
I - 41.4 @ 6000rpm
II - 61.3 @ 6000rpm
III - 84.4 @ 6000rpm
IV - 110.1 @ 6000rpm
V - 149.1 @ 6000rpm
VI - 220.2 @ 6000rpm

i thought i read that these trucks are governed at 155mph. so right out of the box they can achieve more than this?

No governor. Back in November 2006, when mine was closer to stock I hit 163 mph before my nuts shrivled up and I slowed that bitch back down. I had witnesses and it sure took some time to get that fast but I promised to never do that again.

152 in 5th because when I shifted to 6th it started losing speed. 100% stock.

180 hahahaha thanks for a great laugh hahahah there is not one truck on this forum that could do 180 in the standin mile hell i bet there probably is maybe 2 or 3 trucks on here that could do 180 in 10 miles hahahaah thanks my stomach hurts

The last time I was there a red SRT 10 was also running I have not checked the posted records but I think he ran around 140.

I ran around 145, but i wasn't focusing on my truck.

I once buried my speedo in sixth, aprox. rpm?,About 1/2 inch past the 160 mark .I estimate around 170/175 mph,it was still pulling pretty good and felt pretty stable too.Without g.p.s.,I really couldn't be sure about exact speed though. The speedo also is accurate according to dyno pulls.Running 120 mph in the quarter means I have 3/4 of a mile to achieve another 60 mph?I also do not recommend this act without first having the correct aero and suspension pieces in place as well as being absolutely sure you and the truck are up to the task.Alot things can go wrong, faster than you think!!

from 150 on is the hardest you could not do 180 in the standin mile sorry even with 3/4 of a mile

Slightly OT, but how about a Lenco with BTR Bruno? (Lightning rods would be cool, but air pods would probably have to be used in order to fit the truck.) The Bruno's already fit BBC's, and there are good BBC-Viper adapters. The combo of the number of gears and gear ratios would certainly allow someone to tailor the trans to exactly the best combo for top speed or 1/4 mile runs.;)
the transmission is already come a mikes vasco 400....but i am runnin a 3.73 rearend gear

lencos with the air shifters controled with a PLC would make for a nice set up.
