...well after two years of successful 1/2 mile races at ellington airforce base in houston, they are finally giving us the full 9000' runway. That will allow for the entire standing mile to be run.

Mark my words the current texas mile record of 264 will be shattered, and the 280 that guy in florida ran for the world record will be broken.

It's about track quality, beeville is a bumpy mess, ellington is smooth.

The average driver is scared to drive that fast, that's what I think.

I am-----

Way back when I had a 1972 240Z with 160 on the speedometer. Most likely not accurate but had it to 154 before I ran out of road. Have had my 10 up to 132 and can tell you that is faster than I will go again. I got old and the cars close to the ground do nothing for my sphincter muscle.

Feel a whole lot more comfortable in our truck up high off the ground (to say nothing about being able to see pretty legs in the cars next to ya). Late last year I test drove a 2004 Viper and love the acceleration but again, just too close to the ground for my comfort. Might let VENOMOUS1 take my 10 thru the Texas mile but believe I stay on the ground and take pics.:D:rock::D
