If the dollar keeps depreciating it won't matter how much you have...it will be worthless:D

I just hope I can buy more with my dollar (since I have some dough in the bank) tomorrow than I can today. Wishfull thinking.

I sure hope you all have a nice collection of precious metals and gems....one should always have that sort of stuff on hand in case it gets real ugly

USAGold.com I have used them before, they will send you the bullion itself or they will house it in Delaware for you. Ask for George Cooper, tell him Carlo referred you! My last buy was 04...done pretty good!

Years ago I used to joke about having a shack on an island that I could fall back to and fish for food if necessary.

Not a joke any more...if everything else goes away that little piece of paradise could be home. Now how do I make it without being able to pay the water bill? Maybe a tin roof and a big caldron to catch runoff???

dude, dont let the dow fool ya....we are in for rough times.....you dont throw money at a money problem....if my history is correct....they tried that back in 29 and of course it didnt work....

Tell them to make me some cookies!

sorry, Dow Jones

I was born a dirt poor hillbilly.I have never seen my standard of living go up or down in relation to the stock market or inflation/recession.I have had to work and work hard for everything that have.By doing this steadily for the last 28 years I have finally reached mid-level middle class (some say I have no class, but that is another subject :D ) and I live fairly comfortably now.My home is paid for and I am able to make double truck payments every month. But I have to work to do it.
My point is this : for those of you that have money in the bank and stocks and other investments,be thankful that you have enough to worry about the stock market. It is doubtful that I will ever have that much,so whatever the Dow does, whatever inflation-recession we experience,I will have to work hard just as I always have.It means little to me.

You have found part of the secret to happiness. Hard work and appreciation for the accomplishments you have attained.

The shitty part of life is that economic conditions that you have had nothing to do with creating, can bite you in the ass. When those with resources start pulling in their horns due to fear of loss...then big companies start to cut back to conserve capitol. The conservation of resources starts to generate cut backs and the unemployment issues start raising their heads.

A poor economic situation leaves few untouched...and it is the middle and lower class that truly suffer.

That's what I'm sayin'.... It's like a giant fkn financial yo-yo lately... :dontknow:

It is...truly. UP ----- DOWN -----UP----DOWN. Even watching the sht on TV makes me go bonkers. One second the whole world is falling apart and the next we're "going to be" back on top.

For some of us it really is no joke.
