I was talking with a friend the other day who's an astrophysicist. (Tony- that means he's really learned. LOL).
Here's part of our IM conversation about the fastest color:

(01:27:41 PM)
KEVAN: Hey.
KEVAN: In the visible spectrum of light, which color travels fastest?
ASTRO: no color travels faster than another
ASTRO: it's all the same stuff, the only difference is the energy
ASTRO: in the visible spectrum, red light has the lowest energy, and violet light has the highest
ASTRO: the way that different colors of light have different energies, but still travel at the same speed, is that the energy is bound up in the light's frequency
ASTRO: red light has a low frequency compared to violet light
KEVAN: What about Black? ...and pure white?
ASTRO: black is the absence of light
ASTRO: so, effectively, black travels as fast as light :)
ASTRO: *pure* white light is more or less a collection ofphotons of various frequencies, those composing the full visible spectrum
KEVAN: So, it's the color's relative energy that is more/less than the other colors?
ASTRO: yeah
ASTRO: radio waves (photons very much less energetic than red light) and gamma rays (photons very much more energetic than violet light) all travel at the same speed, even though radio waves pass right through your body, and gamma rays will give you cancer :)
KEVAN: Ok.
KEVAN: I guess this settles the "fastest color" debates.
ASTRO: lol

Sorry for getting all geeky on everyone. :D

so you work for nasa then?

So the "weakest" to "most powerfull" colors would go in the order of the spectum: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. So its safe to bet that the lighter the color, the more energy or "power". So silver wins it, wooo hooo :vroam:

Black is most powerful, fastest and the favorite of most logical and rational people...he said it, I belive it, that settles it!

Ahh . . . but don't forget the Doppler shift. When objects accelerate away from each other, the wavelengths stretch toward the lower frequency end of the spectrum. This not only works for compression waves (sound), but also works for transverse waves such as light.
So basically, no matter what color your truck really is, your TAILGATE looks RED to a Ford or Chevy!

Puff Puff PASS... All the best to you this Holiday Kevan... hold out on whatever your :bandit: For the 07' NAts will ya....

Okay folks, this is not about the speed of light. As stated above, all light travels at the same speed.

Now back to the color of our trucks. In reality what you see when you see a color, is the reflected light waves. The other colors are absorbed. Make sense?

I really hate to do this, but for the sake of this arguement I will do it. Since all colors combine to make white, that means that no light (nor energy) is absorbed by a white truck. So that would mean that all light, and therefore all energy is absorbed by a black truck, making it the most powerful, and the fastest.

Now we all know this to be pure bullshit. Trucks are not powered by the energy of the sun. Well, at least not yet. We do however know that DC saved the most powerful engines for the limited production trucks. So that makes the Blue and White, White and Blue, and Yellow trucks the fastest.

Listen to this everyone, he really knows what he is talking about.

WHAT, are you crazy? Everyone knows the black trucks are the fastest!:D :p

:) You forgot the Night Runner. It is black metallic. So how does it play into your theory?:dontknow:

The way I look at it, all colors travel at the same speed but black requires more energy(Carries more energy) to get it's butt up to speed . Red takes less energy(Carries less energy) but travel at the same speed.

So which one is the fastest? You need x amount Black power to travel at the speed of light. You need a fraction of Red power to do the same thing. Hence red is the fastest and most effecient....:star: :burnout: :D :D :D

P.S. All other SRT10s but Red ones are the reason we get the gas guzzler rep...They require more gas to go the same speed...;) :D :D

The metal flakes that make the paint "Metallic" actually reflect energy back so they are not absorbing as much energy as a plain black truck.
