I have been trying to take my thermostat out and the stud with the ground on in keeps wanting to turn out and the ground wire seems to be fused to the nut in front of it.

i took an old wrench & ground it down just enough to get between the housin & ground.

There you go ^^^

I had the same thing happen with mine when I swapped thermostats a few weeks ago. I was able to use a ratchet on the outer nut. The stud can only rotate until the ground cable connector rotates over and is againt the thermostat housing. Once it hit the resistance of the houseing it snapped free.
