Things to do in Hammond?

Im out of town working near Hammon IN. We have the weekend off, and was wondering if someone from around here knew of something to do on my time off. Maybe a car museum or somthing. I think we are gonna try the sears tower. Dont know much about what else is up here, other than Opra!

The nearest are the gambling boats in and around Hammond.
or a trip to the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, IL.
They are having a special show on Sunday I think?

If you have not been to downtown Chicago there is
plenty to do! Museum's, site seeing, eating etc.
