My buddy rick came over with computer checked truck the only code it is showing is P1389 ASD RELAY. . I guess its if the truck rolls over or is in a accident it kills power to the motor. Has anyone else had this problem or know where this relay is? Any info would be great. Thanks Rocky

did you have the battery load tested? a bad battery can cause all sorts of codes, crazy codes at that

Yes it will. The truck will do all kinds of strange things.

I have replaced numerous fuse boxes underthe hood, they internally screw up. I did one last week on a ram 1500 it had no parklights/taillights the control for the park lamp relay was internally fried. They are also year specific. This may or may not be your problem but putting it out there

On my 05 the ASD is relay #57 underhood fuse box. There are many relays with the same part # . Try swapping relay with another. The relay gets power from fuses #2 and #49. If swapping relays and fuses test good let me know and I'll print out wiring diagram. This code sets when the PCM did not detect voltage on the ASD Relay output circuit to the PCM. Also check conectors at PCM to make sure they are clean and tight. PM me if any questions

I dont think the relays are in the fuse box we checked but i bought the truck used and dont have a owners manuel to locate them. . Rick has a 05 and he said his are in the fuse box mine is a 06 and they must be somewhere else.

The wiring diagram shows the 06 ASD is part of the "Totally Intergrated Power Module" . The TIPM is located inside the left fender. The diagnostic flow chart says to hook up scan tool and see if " Good Trip is equal to zero". Who thinks up this shit? If you give me a fax # I can send you the test procedure for this code. With out a scanner about the only thing you can do is check the connections at the PCM for corrosion and tight fit.
