Thinking about a Viper

I have been pondering trading my 2005 SRT-10 and my Plum Crazy SRT-8 for a Viper. Do you think the dealerships will rake me over the coals on a trade. The truck as 4500 miles on it and the car has 700 miles. I would be willing to trade for a used low mileage Viper as long as I do not have to pay a lot. Hoping for an even trade.

For me . . It would be a no-brainer. I'd trade the SRT10 & 8 on a SRT10 Coupe in a heartbeat. . . :rock: (IF it were an even trade or minimal monies out of my pocket)

When you find a used low mileage Viper that you don't have to pay alot for let me know. I also would be interested.
Low mileage meaning under 5k miles?
Do you want a Gen II or III?
Are you willing to spend more than $50K

97 or newer and 50K would be close. I would think I could get that for a trade in on my 2 vehicles.

Go with a 99, there are a few out there. it might be tough to get into a SRT with low miles for that amount, you may have to spring for an extra $5k.

if you have that kinda money around you should go for a used galardo 04 ish... about 119k.... well you might have to put out another 60k but hey its worth it LOL.... .. but seriously good luck with the viper .. id do it if i could afford the insurance on the damm thing...

now... sorry.... truck and viper are 2 completely different things....they just happen to have the same engine.... i think if you want a viper as "only" car .... you never should by a truck in the first place....:dontknow: ...and if you love your truck .. you will never find that in a viper.... so it's completely useless to compare the both....

Nice pics Dusty. No word on the dash plaques yet. I am sure they are lost somewhere at the dealership. I keep trying about once a week.

If you can afford it keep the truck, sell the SRT-8 before it depreciates even more. Like Tim says ook for a older modded Viper, something around 600hp or more unless you don't mind the new Z06's blowing your doors off!

There are good deals out there due to the new 08's. If you are looking for a Gen II, I would suggest a 99 (forged internals, new interior, only year with this combo). Yes I have a 99, so I might be biased, but that is why I searched for the 99 I wanted. If you are looking for a Gen III, there are 03-05 verts out there around $50k right now. As said above, buy the car with the mods you want on it already, I took that advice and very glad I did! Good luck with your decision!

Fast Fred's plum crazy came with a dash plaque. I would get ahold of Dodge customers service if the dealership doesn't want to help.
