Thoughts on this car for sale.......

true car guys will bow to this car.

First year out it dominated the nascar circuit and lapped other cars.

2nd year out nascar said it could not run a big block anymore and would be limited to a small block. Even it was still winning races by a lap.

After that this car was banned from nascar.

Its a nice car but man..thats expensive...The 3 miles thing is misleading IMO..the car was restored, but the actual milage isnt disclosed..Does a car usually get restored after having 3 miles on it?..
I would prefer a 70 Superbird personally.

As a senior in High School, I sold a 67 Plymouth GTX to a buddy of mine so I could get a 70 Superbird.

So that Superbird was my High School car...what a blast.

That thing was my pride and joy. Since I don't live far from the Petty homeplace, and where the shop used to be, I took it down there and asked Richard Petty to autograph it for me. Not only did he gladly oblige, he ended up putting his signature on the vertical stabilizers (the uprights for the wing, lol), the owners manual, and various other paperwork in the car. I thought that was pretty neat.

After looking over the car a bit, he told me that this was the car that he himself had put about 500 miles on driving it around for a publicity tour. It had never been titled when I bought it, and it had a little over 500 miles on it at that time.

That car was very special to me, and as ugly as it was, at the time I thought it was the most beautiful car in the world. I was a fan of Richard Petty and Mopars so him signing it, and the fact that I had to buy all of my cars myself, made it something I was truly proud of.

I have a freind in NY with a gold one..supposedly its one of 11...beautiful car...I would give my left testicle for one...I had a 70 GTX once..440 4sp...sold it..needed beer money...lol..

When I bought the car I wasn't old enough to have my name on the title. I was still sixteen. So, of course I had my dad sign for it.

I drove the car for about a year and a half, and decided that hey, it might be worth something someday, since they are not going to make any more of them. It had 23,000 miles on it by then, but still looked like it just came out of the showroom. So I bought a '73 Roadrunner, and the Superbird went into my dad's garage to stay for about twenty years or so.

Well my dad knew that that was my car...no problem. The unfortunate thing is that he passed away, so now the evil stepmother owns it. (Since it was in my dads name.)

Since it was taking up "her" space she decided to sell it. Now it didn't have the hemi in it...it had the 440 magnum...and these cars were bringing around 70,000 to 75,000 dollars at the time. (BTW, I paid 3500 dollars for it when I bought it.) She found a "hot" buyer for it. Like that was hard to do. He paid a grand total of 25,000 dollars. I didn't even know it was happening.

That is the first car to break 200 mph, winged warrior, it ruled nascar, would love to own a homolagate daytona charger, or any other nascar car, #'s on how many built in 70 with the 426 hemi............

Awesome car. IMHO Bill France and Nascars decision to ban the Hemi/Wing Cars was a huge mistake......:argh:
