ok this is not a srt-10 question but i know someone out there knows ,,,

i am work on my low riding chopper and i bought an axel off someone on ebay the shaft is 1 inch diameter,,,i need to lenthen threads on it ,problem is the only die that seems close is a 1 inch with 12 threads per inch ,,
but if i measure an inch down threads and try to eyeball count the threads it looks to me to be 14 threads per inch ,,but i cant find a die that is 1 inch dia . with 14 threads in a standard sae size ,,,is this a metric size ????????? and what size could be ,that close to a one inch size ???:dontknow:

Arnhead, take it to any good machine shop they will whoop it out for you cheaper than you can buy a new die.

If my memory serves me:dontknow: a 1 inch standard coarse thread bolt has 13 threads per inch. But just to be sure, maybe you could do a search on the internet and find it. Good luck.

i can get one for free ,,and we have a small shop at work but if i let the d!ckheads that work in there do it they will take credit for building my whole bike just because they chased the threads for me,,

and it is in no way course threads ,,thirteen is not a course thread,,the dies we have go all the way to 1 1/2 ,,,fine thread is 12 inch in 1 inch ,,,

I googled it and I stand corrected.

i found one with both metric and sae ,,,looks like it is a metric 14x1 but i will check it out in morning

for future references, buy a pitch gauge and never have to guess again.if you don't know what a pitch gauge is,it's like a feeler gauge,it has small blades and has what look like saw teeth on it and you just fit the teeth on to the threads on the bolt/axle etc. and find the one that sits in threads and it has numbers on the blades for threads count.it has pitches for fine and machine threads.

i did the thread pitch gauge thing,, i have 5 of them but everyone kept telling me there is no 1 in with a 14 threads per in ,,,,,they are wrong it is a 1inby 14ns
thread witch is exactly what i needed,,some experts you guys are hahahahaajust kidding ,,,no im not :D :D :D :D :D :D
