threw some codes can anyone help

decided to go out and wake up the beast its been sleeping for about 5 weeks now. i started it up and let it idle for about 30 min and took it for a spin around the roads by my house. Got 1/2 way and truck threw the following codes.

P1484
P1483
P1403

any clue on any of these i dont have a scanner and googled but alot of different things came up so i figured i would ask the pros

And wow what a difference this cold air is on the truck im thinking about driving it more in the winter.

I wanna say they are ABS codes. You may have to enter the ABS section of the PCM to read.

P1403 No 5 Volts To EGR Sensor
P1483 Catalyst Temperature Sensor Circuit Shorted High
P1484 Catalytic Converter Overheat Detected

I would check to see if something has been chewing on your wiring under the hood.

None of those codes seem to be included in the stickied thread. A google search brought the ones WOT posted however.

Another error codes thread http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31834&highlight=P1483 is saying it differently and P1484 isn't on the list.

This has P1403, P1483, P1484 codes.

Codes with a 1 after the letter are manufacturer specific, so a P1483 for GM might be different than a P1483 for Ford, etc.

Here is a breakdown of what each digit of the code means: (Shamelessly cut and paste from OBD-CODES.COM)


First Character - System

The first character identifies identifies the system related to the trouble code.

• P = Powertrain
• B = Body
• C = Chassis
• U = Undefined

Second Digit - Code Type
The second digit identifies whether the code is a generic code (same on all OBD-II equpped vehicles), or a manufacturer specific code.

• 0 = Generic
• 1 = Enhanced (manufacturer specific)

Third Digit - Sub-System
The third digit denotes the type of sub-system that pertains to the code

• 1 = Emission Management (Fuel or Air)
• 2 = Injector Circuit (Fuel or Air)
• 3 = Ignition or Misfire
• 4 = Emission Control
• 5 = Vehicle Speed & Idle Control
• 6 = Computer & Output Circuit
• 7 = Transmission
• 8 = Transmission
• 9 = SAE Reserved
• 0 = SAE Reserved

Fourth and Fifth Digits
These digits, along with the others, are variable, and relate to a particular problem. For example, a P0171 code means - System Too Lean (Bank 1).

So, that is why you are getting different answers as to what the codes are. You have to search for the Dodge codes (which I did).
