THROTTLE BODY GB's

WOW!!! I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT:eek: SORRY GUYS:( It doesn't matter to me I will buy both TB's if it means the difference between sean not giving a group buy or not. For the price they are selling for anybody can get there money back later on. I just personally like gary's piece better but I didn't want to pay $600 for it like most of the people on the forum. Maybe it was wrong of gary for offering his for the same price after sean already started his list and maybe is wrong of me to change my mind:dontknow: Obviously it is and I wasn't thinking of that. I was just thinking about getting a nicer piece for the same money;)
The only problem both Roe and Boomer made that a 25 or more group buy price?

I appreciate your opinion. However, at the time I changed my mind I had not made a payment or a commitment. The list was to establish an interest level based on price, timing, etc. The cutoff for the "0pting in or out" was October 5th to my understanding.

I agree that changing ones mind until Opt in time was an option, but the fact of the matter is this:

GB = great when everyone really wants what they order
GB = shame when people are flakes about it
and....

right on, i will match Roes price for group buy of 25 tb's. what the hell. :burnout:

You still have to get 25 people to buy Garys TB to get the price, and now you have a divided pool of buyers. Is the pool deep enough to get everyone on a list big enough to get the deal they expected? I for one do not think so.

I think Sean will have to re-evaluate the sales price based on the number of actual orders. And that number figures to be a lot lower based on the last few days. I think there are going to be some surprised folks when they get a call from Roe saying that the organized GB fell through the current best deal is $X.xx. The same goes for Boomer.

In the end it will be interesting to see who actually does buy what, and at what price.

Yeah, and it'll be a fokking shame if it comes to that. :(

In the future (regarding group buys) maybe there should be a rule stating that if you put your name on the list it is your COMMITMENT to buy the product. If you don't go through with the transaction after COMMITTING then you should be banned. I believe FstJack made mention of something like this on a group buy he was involved in once :dontknow:

Or possibly the vendors should make two columns on their list showing one for potentially interested people and one for definitely committed people.:dontknow: This would eliminate any confusion on the part of the potentional or committed buyer and the vendors. This is an issue that can be looked at from many angles and depending on where one stands the view will be variable.

Maybe the owners will step in and make some policies for everyones protection ..........................

I'm not saying anyone else should have my same perspective but I did consider it a commitment to buy when I put my name on the list.

+1:congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

I think I am going back to stock, talked with a HUGE engine builder , expert, tech, someone that even designs their own parts that tons of vipers use.

and according to an engine dyno a correctly ported throttle body made more hp thru the rpm range than a couple of the competitors, they didnt make hp until over 6000rpms, and even lost hp thru the midrange.

I think the divider in the stock throttle body is needed to divide the air, with the open TB it hits the inside of the intake and causes turbulence.

plus all this crap lately has me disgusted

I have never stated anything close to what you wrote here.

A major problem with this group buy is how you addressed your first post when renigging on the Roe group buy.

Also Gary coming in and raising hell about another vendors product.

I would appreciate, if anybody doesn't have anything good to say, don't say anything.

(For all of you that don't know me and some of those that do.)
Read between the lines here folks, this needs to die off and if people keep poking at it, they will get to take a mandatory, 2 week vacation from the forum.

I am going on vacation, then overseas for 2 weeks, so I will start first! lol

Just kidding around, however I agree with these posts. A little professionalism would be the way to go with the GBs.

I have something good to say... Sean did a great job with the GB. I appreciate Roe Racing doing R&D on a throttle body and willing to offer it at a good price. I also would like to give kudos to Sean and Roe Racing for honoring their price even though some that committed backed out forcing him to look elsewhere for buyers.

Here is a fact: Don't count on any vendors offering a group buy anytime soon after what was pulled this time.

It is sad because some of us have to wait for group buy deals to get the mods we want. Thank you to those that honored their commitment.
