So I was taking my truck to get aligned after getting a bunch of stuff done to it to include Justin's electric fan. It ran just fine on the way to the alignment shop, but when I went to pick it up, I started it up then it died after idling for a few seconds. Now it won't turn over and is throwing codes
P1388-AUTO SHUTDOWN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT
P1389-NO ASD RELAY OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT PCM

Anybody have any clue what this means and how to fix it? I'm not sure if my fan isn't hooked up properly, but the fan worked fine and my truck was running normal all day until now.

Check all of your grounds first. It may be simply a loose ground circuit...here is a list of the probable causes:

1. Open circuit (or partially open such as a chaffed line which causes high resistance due to heat when circuit load is on)
2. Short to power
3. Short to ground
4. High resistance (usually caused by corrosion or poor connections)

Let us know what you find.

Went through and didn't find any bad grounds. Doesn't mean I didn't miss one though. I changed out the ASD fuse and she started up and ran just fine. Guess I'll see if it happens again.:dontknow: Thanks Prof.
