Time for a custom paint job.... ideas?

Yeah I've got that pic with the snake somewhere on my comp, forgot about it though, looks good. I think I'm going to go to a shop that was reccomended to me (ironically called wreck-a-mended) and they do custom paint work so I'm going to see what they can do and figure out a budget range. Etc. I'll keep the thread posted. Thanks for all the input, and keep it coming if you still want to contribute.

PAINT YOUR TRUCK SUBLIME GREEN AND FLAT BLACK ON THE TOP...

It'm almost ready to have my truck entirely repainted. Question I'm faced with is.... in what fashion do I want it painted.... how detailed etc.

If I did a monotone, I would choose the Brilliant Black like on the nightrunners OR True Black. Neither of which I've seen up close so its hard to say. I hear True Black looks outstanding.
Monotone won't give any points at a carshow though I'm afraid, so next step up is a 2 color mix.

For Duotone, I'd go black with a bright or deep blood red color. I like the idea of red stripes on black but its been done and if I'm going to the trouble to have it painted, may as well try to be unique. So I'd probably come up with some accent designs. Mild or Wild... dunno - Any input?

Then theres the steps above this involving more intricate designs and actual art... the more elaborate it is, the more it HAS to suit me. In general I like the bad-ass look and evil/sinister appeal. There's always skulls and true fire flames... can't really go wrong there but its been done so many times over (though it never really gets old if done well) I've had several various themes run through my head but do you guys have anything to input here? Maybe help sway my decision. I also have to fix my Z soon and have it repainted so it can serve as a guinni pig for initial color test hehe

I like that. Imagine if I did something like that, but more ghosted on most of the truck. Also I thought about doing the whole truck in snake skin but wow that'd cost a fortune and wouldn't be impressive enough compared to the cost. Also might be cool to have a viper that looks like it 'bursts' through the metal of the truck, weaving in and out of the body. Or I could do skulls, and snakes, and spiders, and lots of creepy stuff... hmm

Also I'm including a shot I took of one of my wheels last night, in the rain. I havn't taken any pics of the more recent mods... poor truck hasn't been up to par for a while, not quite photogenic atm. In fact its been sitting in the yard in the same spot for a couple weeks now, exposed to the elements and stupid crap falling from the trees. the pic was almost black so that explains the bad quality

I have a cover... but its in storage in Houston lol.

Anyway I talked with the guy today and they dont usually do the extensive airbrush stuff so starting out I think I'll figure out my base and then decide on airbrushing next (if at all) The guy suggested as an idea to do a fade from front to back. And at first I didn't really give it much merrit but after thinking about it, there could be some potential with that. I'd go something like Black to Deep(Dark) Red so it was kind of subtle, and then have sections, like stripes, that were reveresed in the fade. like a couple stripes down the side and one fat stripe from the hood scoop to the end of the tonneau. or maybe racing stripes... I'll play with the idea... where'd I put that wacom pen

Havn't decided anything yet still but this is whats on my mind right now. I havn't seen it before but I'm thinking maybe for the base color doing a paint from House of Color (Kolor?) thats black in the shade or night and has a metalflake red in bright light/sunlight. kind of a dark cherry red sparkle (Don't think bassboat) Also I'm thinking about that effect up top and the brilliant black as the bottom section. And from there I could do add accents for contrast or whatever and later airbrush some skulls, or fire or something. or whatever

For those still following this thread, I started playing with photoshop and I've been at it for a few hours and its 7am now and I'm tired, otherwise there'd be many more. This is just trying to find the base layer, then I'll decide if it needs pin striping, tribal stuff, ghosty flames, true fire, skulls, etc etc.

Oh and the truck I used for the photoshop effects is not my truck. Note that my truck has blacked tails, black wheels w/ chrome trim, and illegal nearly black tint and lights with black housing. And I'll end up keeping the paint mostly black in the end so it keeps the blacked out look to it, at least to some degree.

ooohhh.... Had a neat idea... yes I'm still up... If I did the red/black fade (whatever style) I could do BLACK truefire... black flames on red... I've -never- seen that. lol... I'm going to bed now.
