Breaking my post cherry here.

I've settled for 3 yrs with a 04 Hemi QC 4X4 always wanting the SRT. 2004 - wife insists no go since only in RC. 2005 - here's my chance the QC comes out. Wife thinks it's too expensive for a "truck".

I've since retrieved my jewels from the wife's mayonaisse jar and I'm going to buy a SRT QC, question is what's a good price now?

Local dealer has had a new red 05 SRT QC on the lot for at least 18+ months. Sale tag is out - $39,999 vs MSRP $53,400. They just want to get out of it. Still seems a little high since within a 200 mile radius I've seen a 06 QC with less than 200 miles for just under 37K and a new 05 YF QC listed for just under 40K but possibly can be had for 37K. Either 05 I'm leaning towards since I'm not crazy about the 06 interior redo.

Does it sound reasonable to stick between 36 & 37K for the 05s when the 06 is out there at a similar price?

BTW, awesome site. I don't have the truck yet, but already have the mods mapped out. Brings back memories of modding out and racing the 5.0 mustang at Bradenton, FL in the early 90's.

Thanks for any input.

If you do your homework, you should be able to find a 2005 for around $35,000 with low miles or new.

well my suggest is get that 06 QC for under $37k with less 200miles becuz it seems better deal but since u dont like 06 so maybe u can keep look for another 05 QC that is under $37k w. less 200

Offer your dealer $35k and when they look at you like your crazy hand them your card and tell them, "when your ready to sell it call me and I'll write the check".........and dont forget to throw in the line....."how long has this truck been on the lot"? You have nothing to loose dude.....give it a try. If you can do that to the sales mgr, even better.

There are definitely trucks out there for less. I'd go with the other suggestions of offering 35 for it. The price they are asking is the same as fully loaded '06's if you shop around.

if they are smart they would take the 35k seen a lot on ebay for less and car traders with very low miles in the low 30's

+1, you hold the cards. Tell them when they are ready to sell at your price, you are ready buy.

Maui's right. I test drove the local dealers SRT back in Dec and they wanted me to take it home overnight. Repeat customer. Didn't take it home, but next morning they called me 3 times in a row to get me in to get a deal done.

2 months later, it's the middle of winter and they've moved the truck almost into the street to get it noticed. I think 35K sounds right. If they don't budge, let them know I can go elsewhere and get a year newer at lower than their sale price.

I'll trade the interior for a bed cover on the 06.

Thx
