Today between 3am and 5am, my cat Timer passed away. He was my friend for 14 years, he was 17.5 when he died, he was family to me.

He died of CRF (Chronic Renal Failure) also known as kidney failure, a common end of many cats.

He went without pain, or agony. Essentially they "fall asleep" from what the doctors tell me.

He was diagnosed with this 8 months ago, and I was told that he may have days, weeks, or months... so I was able to make him happy for nearly 8 months, only the past week or so was somewhat rough on him, but it was nothing more than him "feeling tired and weak"

Timer. Rest in Peace now buddy.

Sorry for your loss, Scott.

Cats are the coolest of aminals if they are treated right...and make great buddies.

I am glad he was able to go easily.

Sorry to hear this Scott. As you may know I am a big cat lover. (I love dogs too very much, cats are easier to care for, with my busy life style) I always got big laughs when Roz would post those crazy cat pics, maybe you did too. I truely feel your pain, as I am so close to my cat Snickers, I call him my son. He returms so much love and affection. When time has lessened your grief, maybe you'll think about another kitten. Please accept my heart felt condolences.

Thanks for the thoughs guys. =)

I am going to get another kitty, but I need to wait a few months...

I agree.. my busy schedule deems a cat also... yes, I love dogs as well.

Scott sorry for your loss. It is so hard to watch a pet (family for me too) slowly fade away. the hardest thing for us pet owners is knowing that their time will come before ours. The best thing to do in Timer's memory is give another one a home. Rest In Peace Timer. Give those mice in heaven hell !!!

Our deepest condolences. I know too well how it feels to loose a loved family member and friend. So very sorry for your loss.

- Jake, Sarah, Loki and Miss Kitty

I sincerely feel your heartache, Scott..... It really does hurt.

Thanks for the love and companionship, Timer.....

See ya when we get home.......

Have fun up there, old friend....

Tim

I know what you mean.. I am so used to coming home from work and having him greet me at the garage entry door begging for his treats (because he knew that when I got home, that's what he got)

I feel your loss.

My girlfriends Cat, Lucifer died the same way last Labor day weekend. Believe it or not he was almost 21. He was our best buddy. He was a holy terror in his younger years. Some of our friends up to the day he died would freeze when he strolled into the room, even though the sands of time has mellowed him.

We got his ashes in a small urn along side of his buddy "Smelly Cat"

Holy smokes.. 21... I got some strange looks here when I told the vet and crematory place that he was 17-1/2.

I pick up his remains/urn on monday.
