Tiny Tips, And Hidden Secrets

John! How could you think that I would ever infer such a droll concept...

You shock my modesty!

I think one of the best cheap mods is getting rid of the RAM badges off the doors and the Dodge off the tailgates of the 04's. Fishing line, goo gone and a six pack is all you need!!! For less than ten bucks you clean up the truck and get a rightous buzz!!!! LOL

Not being up on all the urban slang. "Just parkay", is that a good thing or an insult?:dontknow: From what I've obtained on the internet, it appears your telling me to go take a flying leap. This is not a good thing.

hey Jake....this interests me...the insulation on mine looks dirty & frayed....where are those pictures you spoke of...?

It's easy to take off... It's just 4 pop-pins. Here's Mutt's truck with the insulation removed (and the switch for the hood light). :)

It looks SOOOOO much better w/ that crap off of there.

Ok....the picture convinced me....the insulation dies...that does look much better........funny you should mention the hood light switch....I was just looking under the hood 20 minutes ago and thought "that hood light needs a switch"....my hood almost stays up more than down....everybody always asks the same question.."can I see under the hood?"...;) .........now for the switch...tell me about it if you dont care?..

Take your wiper blades off, stop by the hardware store and pickup the bottom leg caps from bar stools or kitchen stools ( Black ). They fit exact over the wiper cogs. This protects the gears as well as gives you a finished look. It cleans up the windshield area. I don't run wipers at all, just rainex and watch the weather channel. You can always put the blades in the back for those unexpected thunder clouds.

Disclaimer: I am not telling you to do this, nor do I think a State Police Officer will always give you a pass on this infraction....but for the 3.00 you'll have invested in getting the 2 covers....it's a great mod.

Wanna save 50% on this mod...the bar stool leg covers come in 4 packs....split the cost with another member :)

I got the viper decals here. Just go under "Brake Caliper Decals" and look for Viper.

For the Stainless handle covers, do a search on ebay for "Dodge Ram Handle" and you will get a bunch of options. The one's on my truck are made by Putco and are metal. There are chromed plastic versions out there that I would stay away from. I think the metal ones fit better.

We need the 3/4 inch one to fit our mirror stems. I even put a fanged viper emblem on the front side of the mount for all to see through the windshield. I'll have to get pics tomorrow. Oh yeah, this is a quality piece. Made from aluminum not plastic.

Just got mine. Took less than 5 mins. to install. This is one sweeeeeeeeeeeet piece. Thats what makes this forum so great; the sharing of ideas. Thanks!

They also make one for you Escort owners. I'll be ordering another one for my other vehicle to mount my Escort 8500.

Hey Burk, How close to Shaw AFB are you. Use to go there and work on their overhead doors in all their hangers. Nothing like walking into a dark hanger and once your eye's adjust to the light, turning around and looking up the ass end of a F4 Phantom. Kind of makes things pucker a little. Here are some pics of how I've got my detector mounted and room for extra gauges and Raptor shift light. And to help with the sub, pack it with insulation.

What are the top 2 gauges for in your gauge pod, and where can i get them?

The center gauge is an Autometer DPIC. It's a performance computer. Here's everything it does:
http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=3293&sid=11

I believe I got it from Amazon. I think that was the best price I found.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_sw_1/104-0724340-4011135?rs=15684181&rh=n%3A15684181%2Ck%3Aauto+meter+dpic&keywords=dpic&x=13&y=10

And the top one is an SRT A/F narrow band ratio meter. I would recommend going with the wide band meter. I think it is more accurate than the narrow band. I just got it for the SRT logo on it and to fill the space for future upgrades.

I got the A/F gauge from a member here. You can find the wide band A/F there too or from one of our vendors here.

Bumping an old thread, there are a number of things you can do without breaking the bank. Surely over the past year new ideas have surfaced.

WAZ-METAL ENGINEERING ! Free Mod with Old parts.
So there I was last Sunday with way to much time on my hands before the football game's were to start. Truck is kept at my work in a nice toasty building......hhhhhmmmmm what can I do for free????

I took the old SRT letters that came off the truck, I was going to put them in the honeycomb grill area like I have seen others do, plus kinda like the
SRT8's. I'm not much for bling so I ended up taking a pc of sand paper
( very fine ) and knocked the chrome plasta cote off the letters. I really liked the way they matched the wheels. I then took and sprayed the side of the letters ....ahhhhh Inferno Red...color of the God's to match the truck. Gulp 1 beer, take short break.
Next up was to cut 2 pc's of alum. 1/8 stock drill two holes, paint black, clear coat and pop rivet into the grill. ......drink 3 beers to allow enough drying time and proceed to attach the letters with 3M tape.

Invested $'s
Left over letters from debadge job 0 invested
Sand paper off work table 0 invested
Inferno Red paint, was left over 0 invested
Alum stock, taken from the job 0 invested
Machine work 0 invested
Beer..balance from OH State game 0 invested
If just one of you guy's likey..........Priceless !!!!

When I was done I still had 3 beers to go so I rotated the trucks tires, cleaned the rim's up,calipers and inner fender wells.....
PS. None of this stuff was on my Honey Do List, gotta love it.
Waz-Metal Engineering.....yeah baby....git'r done!
