Tire Smokin Fun

i don't see how that would smoke the clutch....if you shifted fast enough the tires would still be spinning just like normal driving no?

The shifting is most likey to get the diff. from the shock load.

The initial start usually gets the clutch.
 
It is important to remember when thinking about burnouts, people always talk about how "light" truck rear-ends are and how easily they break loose, but looking at the numbers, the rear wheels of our trucks are supporting more weight than an entire '65 Shelby 427 AC Cobra!

So, we have more than enough traction to destroy a lot of parts at will.

The weight distribution is very surprising...very close to equal...:burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

Speaking from experience, it'll smoke the clutch!!! I did one helluva burnout down the street and tried to grab second! It took me a quite a few seconds to realize that my clutch was the one spinning, not the tires (I had the truck for a few days)! I cried and cried some more!! The thing stunk like burnt ass clutch for the entire day. I kept getting out of the truck and asking my brother if he could still smell it. He was playing it off like, "I don't smell anyting! Its fine!). It probabaly took a few thousand miles off the clutch!! It still makes me want to cry!!
