Tires&gears

I don't use oil anymore; I use Mrs. Butterworth’s Lite Maple Syrup. Not only is it less expense and flows well it makes the cab of my truck smell good. I just have trouble driving by the IHOP.
Bertolli olive oil works amazing as well. Smells delicious as you're driving to boot!

Your engine is on a totally different level! At what RPM do you expect to go through the traps at? I'm assuming a lot higher than 6,000. 7,500??? If so that's why you retain the ability to stay with 4:56's.

I realize my new engine is at a higher level. That is why I referred to my stock engine in this discussion. I was able to stay in 4th gear with 4.56's and M&H drag radials with the stock engine. I raised my rev limiter from factory 6,050 to 6,200. I shifted at 6,000 1-2, 2-3 and at 5,600 3-4 to get the best time (years of testing). However my engine had a ported intake, JTSVenom TB and headers with custom exhaust, with a tune my peak HP was at 5,600....other stock engines may be a little lower. My new engine makes peak HP at 6,400, peak torque at 5,000. Red line will be at 7,000. I will be shifting at about 6,600 for all three shifts and I will be able to leave the truck in 4th gear through the traps. According to my calculations I will be able to go 137 mph @ 7,000 with the 4.56's and the 30" tall M&H cheater slick. I don't think I will be near that fast in the 1/4 mile , but I expect somewhere close to 130 mph trap speed. 130 mph should be around 6,650 rpm in 4th.

I have owned my 2004 RC since new (came with 4.10) and I switched to the 4.56's. I prefer the 4.56 for 1/4 mile racing. I lowered my ET when switching. With tuning and exhaust work along with the M&H drag radials (29.5" tall, 390-40-17) I was able to stay in 4th gear through the 1/4 mile. Experience is talking here as I have had one of the quickest naturally aspirated stock engine trucks on this forum since 2006. I was the first one in the 11's NA. My new engine is quite a bit more powerful (+200 rwhp over my stock engine) and I will be staying with the 4.56's.

AMEN TO THAT!!! Shift that thing!   Hey, Jerry, hope you are well :D
