Tornados and other bad news

[HOT RAM]

We had a F1 (?) tornado touch down here yesterday evening (Stanley,Page County,VA).The Weather Channel even mentioned it this morning.
Hail big as large grapes and some golf ball size.Some areas even had it baseball size.I have NEVER seen it like this before.

I was just getting home when all this broke loose and actually saw the rotation start !!!!!!!

I lost very little,but some neighbors weren't as fortunate.One trailer was thrown 75 ft though the air !! With the family inside.They are all ok.

I had tree limbs and lots of leaves down.The truck is undamaged !!!!!! :rock:
The top to my Bronco was tossed around some,but no major damage.

For those wondering why I didn't make Panama City Beach gtg and haven't been posting much lately .......I have had COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) for several years and lately it has been much worse.I developed pneumonia and then suffered a collapsed lung .I was just not strong enough to make the trip.

I am finally doing a little better,though.Hope to be back to work full time next week.

Geez Nelson.... I had no idea....... Glad yer OK.

I was in respiratory for over 12 years and created a home respiratory pharmacy in Carlsbad, CA. called Life Medical.

It was so sad to see my patients (friends) suffer from COPD, Emphysema and the other host of respiratory diseases that are out there....

I have been trying to get an extended stay in the Southwest to see if I like it.The docs have said that it would me a lot of good to be in a dryer climate.

Damn, that sucks.

Hope you continue to get better, and I agree, you really need to check out a dryer climate.

Sorry,I got caught up in your copd comment,That I forgot about the tornado concern.Living here in Fl.We live with the likelyhood of a hurricane every year.
But we have ample warning unlike tornados like you you experienced.Scarey stuff for sure!!

It was definitely intense around here for about an hour.

I knew from the look of the sky just a few moments earlier when I left the store that it was gonna be bad,then to look up and actually see the rotation when I stepped out of my truck at the house.........well,I couldn't wait to get inside

I have found no serious damage to anything.All can be repaired or replaced.
Up until about two years ago we NEVER had this severe type weather.
Last year we had 90mph winds and over 1" of hail on the ground and just over the mountain they actually had to plow the roads from hail !!!!!!

They year before that we had a microburst within 300 yds of where this tornado hit this year

All the more reason to move to the southwest mtns

After closer inspection I have found several dings from the hail

So..........I am looking at replacing the hood and also considering re-painting


Any thoughts or ideas ? :dontknow:

( I have been half-way trying to sell it,but I prefer to have it 100% before I let it go)

Sorry to hear about your damage and health issues, we get those twisters here in Georgia too. You sould try a dent removal shop for the hail damage if the paint is okay. It's amazing how the dents just disappear when they do their magic. Good luck my friend!
