Torque Converter and GM Solenoid

I've found our (huge) stock cooler to be pretty adequate, even in Phoenix heat. Have you had temp issues with your's?

I agree completely that the converter builder needs to know about your engine so he can build you a converter properly. If you change your cam, you will likely change your torque peak which will affect your converter choice.

Circle D is located off of 290 Ryan and would get my vote . Get a bigger trans cooler its not going to hurt any thing and since your at the track every other weekend your truck deserves it:) Decide if you are going to swap cams and plan ahead before you decide on a stall . Just my 2 cents lets make it 1 cent i haven't worked in over a year :D

Wouldn't hurt to flush the trans check the bands and see whats in the pan.

It prevents a full throttle non-shift condition, generally for the 1-2 shift.

3/4's of the way down this page:

"#REC. This kit was specifically designed to handle higher base pressure in high performance applications and to improve the reliability of the governor solenoid in normal use. In performance units the pressure can flood the Dodge solenoid and cause a no shift condition at full throttle. This is the fix. Fits all rear wheel drive RE model transmissions. Added 9-25-2008. Cost $149.00"

what does the GM solinode do?

I have never had any tempreture problems relating to the transmission. It just started with the shifting issue over the past week. This morning on the way to the fire station I was at 1/3 throttle and it shifted up and down 3 times really quick before finding the right gear.

I'd go for fluid and filter change, solenoid change (either stock or gm conversion), band adjustment, tv cable adjustment, and see what that gets you. That's all maintenance that should be done anyway, so it can't hurt! :)

OK, next time you go to the track.....DONT DO ANY OF THAT. Do your burnout, Pull up to the line.....Left foot on the brake, Right foot covering the gas. On the Third yellow light, let off the brake and mash the gas......you should get a NO WORSE than 2.1 60' and 8.6 1/8 mile around 82-84 mph.
Thanks for your help. I did much better at the track this weekend at the Panama City GTG. Tried your technique and ran a best of 8.82 (which is a 2 tenths improvement) and consistant 2.0 60 foot times. Not as good as your times, but I can work on that. And the weather was hot as hell that day. So, I'm looking for some better times once the weather cools off down here.
