That's a great price for an HD player! Is it true HD or one of those that "interpolates" into HD?

I have one of the Discovery HD DVDs on the Planet Earth series that I can't even play! :(

Its true HD, and will also take regular DVDs and up-scale them to 720p or 1080i (which is the same thing).

My BD player does this also, and there was a noticable difference from regular DVDs when I upscaled them.

wal-mart had that one on sale for $99 a couple weeks ago, but they were sold out by 6am hah!

Isn't this going to be "Blue Ray" vs "HD"? Like VHS vs Beta....
Might be a reason there so cheep!

My thoughts as well. Not sure what this industry is going to do.I have been holding out but for sub 200 bones might be worth a shot!!!

Sony hasn't had a real good track record on cornering the market with new tech... Sony's cameras are the only ones to use that memory stick they came up with, the rest are using SD or XD cards.... MiniDisc obviously failed.... Beta failed... Anyone remember Dreamcast?

I highly doubt Blue Ray will take off. It's just to expensive. :dontknow:

Yes, well, Blu Ray has better market penetration. The pundits are already predicting HD DVD's demise.

Blu Ray is quite well established. It has already taken off.;)
