Hey Bro's And Gal's, I know there is alot of knowledge out there so help me out. I tow a 22ft Alumaweld Jetsled to the rivers here in Washington and I was told that I can't supercharge or turbocharge the motor without burning it up when I'm towing. Anyone have any comments or help on this? Ronnie would appreciate your help!!
Thank you!

Depends if you have a RC or a QC, if you have a QC and SC or turbo it you will definitly have to upgrade the tranny, about $6000 worth.

Ronnie, this is a race truck not a work truck  :D ;) :dontknow:

As long as you are within the allowed towing capacity of the truck you will be fine. I would suggest at a minimum that you add a shift kit to the tranny. They are the weak link.

I would say that what you heard is correct. It may be possible to set up a tune so that you can tow with it and change the tune back afterwards. Someone like Boomer could answer that. I will say that I towed ~3,000 lbs with my 05 QC with Paxton and Boomer's blower flash. I noticed that I really had to keep an eye on the engine temp at lower RPM's. It wasn't climbing fast but was climbing higher than usual. Seemed to be worse at lower RPM's. When my truck was stock I towed about 6,000 lbs a couple of times so I can tell the difference.

If you must tow with a supercharger, keep an eye on the temps, you'll want a tranny upgrade, IMO don't go above 3,500 lbs.

First of all I KNOW IT'S A RACE TRUCK, Believe me I drive it like one. The Truck is a 06 Nightrunner. It's rated at 4500 pounds towing capacity which is fine but the question is can I supercharge or turbocharge without damage. And by the way Wifey fishing is not work.
hahahahahahaahah:rock:

Ronnie your question is valid.
Heres the point.
The stock trannies are weak. After supercharging or turbo the tranny will get weaker depending on how much hp you push and how you drive, and also how much weight you plan to tow.
I would suggest to start with you get a deep pan for added fluid capacity, it will keep the tranny cooler.
Second have the bands adjusted when you change the fluid, alot of the autos came out from the factory with the bands misadjusted.
Third I would suggest a shift kit with street settings. this will let the bands apply much quicker with less slippage between shifts.
Also go with a good quality synthetic fluid.
I would also add a larger tranny cooler.

These suggestions should prolong any tranny problems.
Its just that some of the members that are making numbers over 650rwhp have had tranny problems without towing.

Hope this helps.

Wow, I had no idea the Nightrunner was rated for 4500 pounds towing:D . And I have heard it said that the worse day fishing is better than the best day at the officer!! ROCK ON

Yeah baby, just love to get on the river and relax with a pole in my hand ( fishing pole wise guys) and a hot cup of coffee or beer depending on the time of day and enjoy!!!
