Not that I care.. I hate most imports anyhow... and this is only one more reason to hate them....

But Toyota is advertising that their new Tundra has the largest front disc brakes in its class.... the Tundra falls in the 1500 size 1/2 ton pickup class...

So I wrote them an email advising them that they are incorrect, that the Ram SRT-10 have 15" front brakes, and 14" rear brakes, that trumps all over their claimed "LARGEST IN CLASS" 13.6" front brakes....

I might suggest that we all gang up and send them email advising them of this that their website, and radio/tv adds are mis-leading, and contain false information.

The SRT/10 is no longer in production so they are stating the truth.

That might be true... if they were not wording the ad as if to state "Largest Brakes Ever in a 1/2 ton pickup"

I was brought up hating imports. But now i am more open minded. i would like to hate them still but in my opinion they build their cars much better than the big three. my dd is a 4runner. it has been the best auto i have owned, quality wise. i am also considering a new tundra for a work truck b/c i dont want the shit that ford and g.m. has sitting on their lots. i'd rather pay sticker price for a toyota than get $10,000 off a ford or a chevy. just been burnt too many times. btw dodge has advertised our srt 10 rams as being the fastest production truck. i know a cyclone would spank it, not its top speed though. don't want to cause an arguement just compare apples to apples

Thats is why I qualified my statement by saying _MOST_ imports... I would actually consider a Toyota Tundra if they made a diesel version of it... but even with that... you can not beat the pulling power of a F350/450 or Ram 3500 with their diesels....

I owned a 2002 F-350, upgraded turbo, custom downpipe, 5" exhaust all the way out, and a ATS tranny, and I pulled 18,000+ lbs like it was not even there... (40 foot toy hauler fully loaded)

Actually, I think Toyota has more factories in the USA than Ford or DCX, right? At least they are giving Americans a good job... instead of moving all their stuff to Mexico or Canada. :dontknow:

rumor has it there will be a diesel in the tundra in a year or 2. i don't need a diesel (would be nice though) but that new 5.7 they have seems like its got some balls. atleast more than g.m. or ford. ford had the right track by trying to make a new 6.2 hurricane v8 but its been on again off again so who knows where they stand.

i think your right. the more i think about ford and gm the more i dislike them and what they are doing. more and more they are producing our american cars in canada and mexico while more and more mexicans are coming over here. they already have half of our jobs, what the hell do they want with our land

I dunno but I had a really good carne asada burrito the other day

Its funny when i heard the commercial and saw the ads a thought about the brake thing as well. but I guess most people out there are not as into trucks as us. But the tundras will know on the street if they line up next to us!!!!!!

my insurance states my truck as a 1500 as well

Everyone is correct.

Toyota changed the ads.
Originally it said, "largest brakes ever". Those ads only ran for about a week.
Now they say, "largest brakes in it's class".

I heard both versions, and thought the same thing others did.

IRONY: The SRT-10 could be classified as an import. The new Tundra can not.
:D

Hmm.. maybe the ad I heard this morning on the radio was a old recording... but I thought for sure it stated "Largest brakes ever...".. but it was 5:30am... and I was just waking up....
