Track Last Night

Our timeslips are probably offset for the .500 sec light.

And I can't believe more people haven't been to PBJ for the heads/cam package. Joe is one hell of a motor builder/tuner.

N/A, big cam (& under the curve torque) power is different than F/I power. Best bang for the buck in the motor build market, IMHO. :burnout:

With everything you have done with your truck Tim I am surprised you dont have caltracs. Any reason why?

FYI......at my track a perfect light is .50 Must be in the software the track uses, on whats considered perfect.

Just haven't gotten that far yet, Patrick. I kind of like breaking the tires loose with just a wiggle of the throttle. :D :D :D

Seriously though, I have concerns about the ground clearance with the Caltracs. And I have run 1.86 sixty without them when the track is prepped better. And I like the way the truck handles on the street without the Caltracs.

Congrats on going beating a Paxton truck 4 times. Thats awesome!

Thats a phenominal sixty foot, so I guess you dont really need them. How do the caltracs affect handleing on the street?

Some of the guys who are running them would have to answer that. I am concerned that it wouldn't ride as well on the street. And I don't want to lose the ground clearance. The bottom of the Caltrac bars almost touch the ground.

btw, that 1.8 sixty is with M&H 390s. Just thought I would clarify. ;)

My best was only a 12.72@111mph with a 2.0 sixty and spinning all the way thru 1st gear. I think Bill ran a best of 12.8x@109mph.

Track was NOT hooking. My best 60' was 1.96 with the M&H 390s. For comparison, my last trip to the track I pulled mid 1.8s easily. Bill has Caltrac bars (and M&H 390s) on his truck and was pulling high 1.8s. He's pulled 1.6x's before.

I'd love to see what your truck can do with a sticky track!

My truck went 111mph with a Full Exhuast, DC Tune, K&N, and 4.56's.

With your engine work you should see 115 IMO!!

If I lived closer, I think I'd be talking with that PBJ dude!!

I hit 111mph with 4.56 gears and 29" tall M&H drag radials aired down to 18 psi. With OEM rubber I probably get close to 115 right now. ;)

for those that dont understand the .000 and .500 reaction times I will break it down for you.

At most NHRA track they since switched over to LED lights for teh 3 amber and 1 green lights, thus meaning there is not any "light up" time for the filament to become fully lit. and on the older tracks that still use conventional filament bulbs the use the .500 perfect light becasue this is the amount of time it takes to become fully lit. hope this helps some of the confusion....

Nice mph for a N/A..... .....your bud needs to re-work that paxton truck though....he should be trapping 116-118ish.....

I don't want him to rework it, lol. I like winning.

Actually I have been telling him to take it to PBJ. :)
