Im headed to the track tomorrow night for test & tune to see what kind of numbers i can pull with street tires. I tried launching a few times today on the highway and no matter what i do this beast just makes the pavement scream through first.:( Hopefully i wont do too bad:dontknow:

Good luck

Yep, ya gotta learn to "feather" the throttle through first and half-way through second..... it just takes practice.

Good luck!

that front end lowering looks nice. thats the perfect look for these trucks

The track is where the man are separated from the girls...or was that boys??:dontknow: ....anyway enjoy it no matter what the time slips...fun is what is about..

Lower rear tire pressure to 21 lbs or so. Feather the gas not the clutch. You feather or slip the clutch and get ready to drop $1500 to $2k to replace!!! Drop clutch, feather gas depending on how much wheel spin you get. Shift at 5500, nothing to gain shifting after 5500. Since you have the QA1's you can set them for optimal drag performance. I dont know what that is, but do a search or call JMB Justin as he is the vendor for those shocks.

Dont forget to raise your hood between runs and let that engine and clutch cool down.

Have fun too!!

try to give the engine enough gas to move forward with little to no wheel spin.

sort of like "pedal" the throttle

if featherin ain't workin then ya move to pedalin

lol:rock: :burnout:  :burnout:  :burnout:  :burnout: :burnout:

So here's Carl with the appropriate descriptive answer. :dontknow:It's what I have been doing all along Carl, but I never rev up the RPMs and dump the clutch. I'll have to give it a whirl. That Centerforce should be able to take it.

Thanks for all the advice guys! So would i really be better off shifting at 5500rpm?

I think you have upgraded heads, don't you? ...... If so, maybe you could get a little more RPM. :dontknow: You'll just have to see. :)

I have been shifting at 5500, but haven't been pleased with the ET's. I'm pleased with my MPH, which leads me to believe I can snag a little better ET.

It was brought to my attention that I should stretch the gear out a little more, so that I'm in at a better RPM in the following gear. I have yet to try this, but you can bet I am going to next time I'm at the track! :driver:

My time slips

:D I'm very satisfied for street tires and my first time in running this truck...
I was #31. #32 is a 2005 Corvette.
