Traction Under Boost or Spray

Here is a thought.... If you have 700, 800+ HP and more importantly torque and you actaully bite, you better upgrade LOTS of stuff or you will be sorry. The big torque combined with the weight of our trucks can be deadly on the drivetrain.

DUHHHHHHHH:p

Jerry and Patrick both have the best idea, the lateral deal is an awesome idea:rock:

This all depends on the power as Patrick said, up to say 7-800hp things can stay pretty simmple, shocks, tires, caltracks, and then dial inthe suspension.

Now More than that such as Nowwhat and things will need to change, he is gonna need some meat under his rig, so will Blake from what I have heard:D

Here is a few options the L guys have come up with... These are from Tim Skelton's website: www.timskelton.com/lightning

Looks like good setups using a Panhard bar. Some of these are made by Ruslow. More info to come...
If that's the rear of a Lightening, no wonder they need so much bracing, there's no spring pack.

Adjustable Shocks

Mostly for Patrick since I know he is at around 700HP. Mikey has too much and besides I heard he already has a set on order.

Patrick if you want to try out my adjustable QA1's for both the front and rear let me know. I think you will have to put limiter straps on both the front and rear as your truck sits a full inch higher(skyscraper) in the air.

Let me know as I will not put mine in the truck till SPRING(dooohhhh). Pretty useless/senseless to put them in now when it will be wet. PLEASE NO JOKES :D

You can try them out and see if they are worth the investment for others since I don't have 600+HP.

YET

kewl....booomer said he had some adjustables coming out too:dontknow:

it a toss up between the sweet lowereed look and 60 foots....my truck hooked up soooo much better before I lowered it!

Can't wait Blake...I am sooooo happy you are up and running. This weekend will be nail bite time for lots of us waiting for results....

Go get 'em!

Roy

Yeah, I donr know if Im gonna run spray or not this weekend. I want to but I dont want to hurt anything either. I think that I should prolly get a whole trrack session under my belt and on this new motor before I hit it with the 250 shot. Maybe Ill have him dial it down to a 100 shot and go that way. Either way I hope to be in the 11's...I know there is gonna be alot of bugs and stuff to work out. The tune is a work in progress but all is looking good at the moment. New slicks will be ready too.....Im excited.

I emailed Woodhouse about the RaceLogic system and here is his reply (I requested his permission to post his response here):

"We have installed these on the SRT-10 RAM and they work very well. The
ABS system is a 3 channel with the rear speed read off carrier speed so
the effects on cornering traction are somewhat diminished because of the
missing variable. It will sense sharp cornering though as in tight
spaces and help there. The rest of the system works great for straight
line traction and launch capability.

Thank you and you do have our permission.

So do you think Nowwhat would have hooked up if he had a 10.5" tire on instead of the 16x12x31.5? Ill likely be running into this on Saturday.

We'll see....Im gonna run with 2 tunes for the NOS. Im gonna run a 100 shot on the button and see how that does. If it hooks then I have the 250 to try also but I think that might just spin. Maybe if I hit it after the 1-2 shift it will work ok??? I think a 100 shot on the accelerator switch might work.....Ill just have to try em both.

You better bump dat bitch up to a 500 shot or your gonna hear the whistle of the BRUTAL 10 TURBO TRAIN blowin by you family station wagons izass!!!!:D :p :burnout: :burnout:

what changed your mind about the juice?

I ran on my old slikcks plenty....30" tall. They got a little shaky at speed but not too bad. AND I wasnt running with rear brakes either. New tires are 31.5 " tall....have rear brakes now too. So, im gonna run the first few easy and get a feel for it. Then hit the 100 shot....

The guys from True Performacne are VERY good friends with the track owners and workers. They pretty much guarantee a warning before any kicking out occurs. This will not matter for the Heffner deal cuz its a private deal. On test and tune nights is the problem. It should be fun though....either way.

During the somewhat annual Viper outings like this the track is prepped big time. With 8 second Vipers running it and others trying to get there prep is everything and from I've read from years past they dont skimp on it. This includes the test n tune nights. Track prep should not/will not be an excuse if previous years outings are any indication.

I didn't know under what condition you'd be testing. Just takes one prick with a little authority to become a pain in your ass.
Hey, glad to see you made it back :D
