Trailing the SRT

Stinker knows.

I'll measure it exactly bro, RC right? I know I used my enclosed and it worked well, and my 24 ft utility trailor, but it was super tight!

let me go measure from wheel to wheel for ya

My 17' open trailer worked fine. Back end of the truck was nearly flush with the back of the trailer. Very tight fitting the front wheels in between the fenders but nothing too difficult. I thought the widths of the trailers were pretty standard, just optional lengths.

From wheel to wheel its 82 inches, but you may need at least 84 inches due to the side skirts stick out a tad further

As far as lenght, its about 212 inches from nose to tail and thats a tad over,

a 17 footer should work good, 18ft or larger better, 90 inch wide would be great.

My utility trailor was only 86 inches or so and you couldnt open the door had to go in from the rear window, if ya could get a 102 it would be almost perfect.'

hope this helps.

Did ya get your truck done? That would be awesome!

I have a 17' Featherlight open trailer. The length is good, the truck overhangs the back a little. The width between the rails is 79" and it is very tight. The rails are actually spread a tad by the tires when the truck is on the trailer. The fenders just barley clear. But they are removable so the door will open over the trailer tires, and loading is not an issue.

80-81 inches for tire clearance would be the minimum that you would need with a trailer that was stiff; ie rails that would not flex like the Featherlites aluminum rails. You would need more room for body clearance. This would depend on how high the inside trailer fenders were off the floor.

Be careful as different trailer Mfg's have many different interior widths.

I feel my 18' trailer is just enough for my RC...the inside fender measurement is 83" (outside is 106" with #7000 GW and one axle brake). I priced trailers in California like this at over $4000 but bought it here in Amarillo for $2200. This is a beefy rig with 5" channel under 4", made by Paris Custom Trailers Texas and sold by TeePee 800-687-7824.

Also be aware of the heighth of the trailer fenders. Mine did not clear when opening the truck door. So we just drove up on 4 small 2x4's to lift the truck.

Thank you everyone. I'd hate to get there and damn thing not fit. Truck is not done...

yea its been some time. I really miss the truck. I am going to go get it next week hopefully if I can find a trailer.

Tommy couldn't you look at renting a U-Haul trailer in Evansville to kinda help offset the cost? I have used some of thier stuff in the past for my Old's and it was great. They have tilt trailers with low profile wheel covers. If your saying the truck is not done.....that can't be good, nuff said. :( Where are you taking it to? Perhaps when you haul it away you can sit in the seat and I'll record you some vroom vroom sound.

I looked everywhere to rent a car hauler trailor that could handle the weight of our trucks....U-Haul said noway so i bought one.

Tom I have an 18' car hauler that you can borrow if you want. You can't open the doors so have to climb out the window but if you have a brake controller your escalade would be fine towing it.
