Tranny Fluid?

Got my tranny built by Six Speed inc. I was told to use Mopar 75w-85 for the viper trans. I think the Viper and our trucks may use the same tranny fluid? Was also told can use D4-ATF by Redline oils. Anyone got input on tranny fluid for a built t-56 or got redline oil in there tranny?:marchmellow:

DON'T use the Mopar gunk !!!!!!

Use the Redline or Mobil 1 ATF ( recommended by Tremec).A few of us here are using it and it works great ! Improved shifting for sure.

Thanks, Hot Ram. Funny how the fluid that says ATF for automatic trans fluid is good for a manual. I guess some gunk is better then others!

Agree. However, they gave me options. Mopar or Redline. This tranny will see more then the stock hp and ftlbs, so made me wonder what is the best route. Also, it seems the viper and the truck use the same fluid. I find this kind of odd due to the fact that the truck is heavier and I would think this puts more stess on the tranny.:dontknow: Thanks for the reply 505.

FATJACK, sorry took me so long to reply, been crazy Friday! I sent my tranny to Six Speed in March and got it back in July. Kind of a long time, but they have fair prices and from what I have heard build all of Hennesys trannys.

There prices are great and there trannys are supposed to be very good but 3 months is just ridiculous. I may order a complete rebuild kit from them and build it locally.

Yeah, it was a long wait. They did stay in touch very well and let me know what was happening. I was able to hold on, as I am in for the long haul on this build.

Hey Stink, just relized your pushin redline oils. I'll put a order in for D4-ATF. I need to get some oil in this thing as it is bone dry right now. Prob. not a good idea to let it sit to long without any oil in it.
