Tranny is leaking

fishy as in the service department is trying to make a quick buck from chrysler?
Yup, ask them why they deem it neccessary to replace the whole unit. tell us what they say.

The dealership said it was necessary to replace the entire tranny because it was leaking from the case, which is aluminum.

HMMMMMM that would mean it was cracked. how did that happen??:D

UPDATE: Supposed to be done by last thursday but they shipped the wrong tranny so it was done yesterday. Since I'm out of the country, my mom went to get it for me.
She goes to get it and what does she find, waterspots, calcium deposits AND what looks like to be 2 new light scratches:mad:  :argh: :argh:
This is how they want to give the truck back when it came in clean, I don't f'ing believe them. When they were done replacing the tranny, they parked it next to where they wash the cars and so it just got completely trashed!
My mom (love her to death) put up a fuss and got into it with several service personnel; basically went to war for me and my truck. She didn't want to let them wash it or get anywhere near it for that matter BUT when she said she would take it home, wash it and bring it back, she knew they wouldn't fess up to the scratches. They think they've done nothing wrong!
She gets in it for a test drive, won't start, its in reverse. Come to find out the damn thing now won't go into park but yet they said she could take it home and just put the parking brake on:argh:   I told her to leave it there and not to accept the truck until its perfect; they said they would look at it first thing this morning but I have yet to hear what was found if anything.
These service guys were so nice in the beginning but now they've turned into complete a$$holes and won't fess up to what they did.
Is there anything I can do or my mom can do to get these guys in some hot water and make their actions known? My mom has already met with the GM of the dealership so what else can be done so that they don't treat someone else like this?
Just burns me that there are so many people who don't care about being responsible with other peoples vehicles and who lack personal responsibility! AGGGGHHHH:argh:

There's really no way you can prove they made the scratches, and the water spots on the truck just shows carelessness.

You did the right thing by not accepting the truck, if she already talked with the GM and you didnt get answers call chrysler and bitch to them. I dont really see how any punishments or other action can be taken against them. Let them fix it and make it right.

well, after they washed it and adjusted the linkage, the truck looks good and what I thought were scratches are no longer there. Looks like they made good after all. But what a hassel!

Glad to hear all turned out alright, but I wouldn't believe that they would treat one of our trucks like shi^, when I get one of my few 10 customer's I always take special care of their trucks/cars. It's just dissapointing to see the way other dealerships make all of us look bad:mad:

Oh and by the way us good guys at the dealerships can fudge some paperwork at times to help the customer out and stick it to Chrysler. The 70% rule is a joke:D
