I am planning on changing my tranny fluid this week. I heard you could fill the transmission from the inside of the cab through the shifter which seems it would be much easier and would prevent spillage. Also can you fill it through the dipstick? Also I've been readin through the forums and I'm not 100 percent sure but to fill the trans it take under 4 qts.

The best way to refill the trans is to pump it into the trans from the outside/bottom of the truck.

You can find a cheap pump at most auto parts stores, Wallmart, and Harbor Freight.

The trans does take 4 quarts to refill from a drained condition.
