friend of mine has a shop ,known him for 14yrs now,he does alot of dodge work, gave me a price to pass along .

$200 to replace your clutch :labor only

$300 to do a auto transmission swap:labor only

$800 labor only to rebuild your automatic transmission

fyi ,he has a lift, this is what he does fulltime.
he cant get parts for you as well at a decent price

that's pretty good... the parts for my rebuild were 1200... plus 800 = 1800... I think I paid 2300:D

the other labor prices seem pretty good as well :)

I' ma little confused at the transmission swap price

200 to do a clutch

300 for a transmission swap...

now to do a clutch you have to take the tranny out
to do a tranny swap you gotta take the tranny out

in both cases you have to put a tranny back in??
so, that seems strange to me :dontknow:

OR do you mean something totally different like he'll swap an auto for a manual (or visa versa) for an extra 100 bucks... because that makes even less sense ... there's a LOT more work involved ....

i know u have to slide to manual back to changeout the clutch, not sure u have to take it all the way out

I've only replaced one clutch in my day... and it was on my cruiser.... I had to pull it... I think that thing weighed close to 300 pounds .... I'll never do that again  I even used a transmission jack

nevertheless those r good prices.... the guy should put together stage kits... i.e stage 1 good for 650 RWHP costs ~500 bucks... etc... I think he'd prolly get some takers down there in FL...

only catch is stinkers tranny's seem to be a pretty awesome deal too....:dontknow: a capitalism hard at work.....:D
