My truck is acting weird and has been making strange noise like metal rattling. When I got into it with a SRT 8 the other day I noticed my transmission was quite sluggish at higher speeds.
Just yesterday it held in one gear till high RPM then shifted. Later in the day it did it quite a few times. I read the codes and got P702. It was getting worse and worse and actually felt like it was losing speed. It was stuck in first gear. I do not really drive the truck too hard. Only time I clean it out is at higher speeds on the highway.
I'm due to get it looked at soon but can't be for a few weeks. Thenew shop I'm taking it to noticed something was wrong right away just from it shifting gears super hard, only in the parking lot. Last transmission place said this was "normal" building pressure in the lines. Luckily my fiance is going out of town so I can use her car.
This will be my second rebuild but like 10th time in tranny shop. I think the problem was the place that worked on it last.
I plan on keeping my truck now. It makes me have fun but comes with a price.
Any experience on this issue would be appreciated.

Sup man, long time no hear!
First off I'd check the TV cable on the THrottle body. Make a couple of adjustments toward the firewall and a couple toward the front of truck. Take a quick spin between each adjustment and see if she goes to second. Playing with this cable changes line pressure, therefore changing shift points. This is a quick try idea that is easy to perform.

Next, if the above does nothing, go ahead and buy some ATF and a filter and give that a try.
Hopefully the TV cable popped outta adjustment.

Wassup puto? Haven't heard from you in a while. As a matter of fact, just had a missed call from ur brother. I'll call him in a bit. The TV cable adjustment, is a good start. If you need help, bring it by and I'll adjust it for you. Glad to hear that your keeping the truck.

I'm going to play with it very little. Don't want to burn it up. If not I can get a car and wait to take it in when they let me.
I don't know how to adjust bands and I'm not sure if it will make it to down south.
My brother said he had some problem with the Infiniti.
I decided it's not worth it for me to sell. I'll hold on to it as long as I can. Only this time I'm taking it to a more reliable shop.

I adjusted the cable several times. Put it almost fully forward almost fully back in the middle and in between those points. I also erased code P0720. Fluid is full and still looks ok, no metal either. I have it almost half way but a little more toward the front. Truck is shifting finally. Still holds first gear till about 35-4000 rpm then shifts smoothly, second is also held till about 4-4500 rpm then third shifts a little harder..

The engine light went back on again, so I am pretty sure there is something more serious then adjustments, unless it is the bands that need adjusting, which I have no idea how to do.

Thanks for the help.

That code is the output shaft speed sensor. Go ahead and make sure it's plugged in and replace if necessary.

If the transmission doesnt know how fast its spinning how does it know when to shift. Seems like the problem is the sensor:dontknow:

I just went out front and took a picture of the location of where it appears to be. I attached it and it appears it could be the problem. It has tranny fluid leaked onto it.
When the shop got it in the air the other day they noticed fluid on the trans pan and cross frame bars. Something is leaking and the rattle noise is still an issue. They suggested front pump was cracked or not functioning. Not to mention leaky valve cover seals up on the engine. All this will be changed when I can bring in for warranty.
Hopefully this $25 sensor can hold the trans over for a few weeks.

sorry photo came out sideways when attached. Right side of picture is direction of ground.
