ok, after driving it home.... second gear is gone.... once I get rolling from D I put it in second and hit the gas... uhhh it goes nowhere ... like it's in N.... strange that it didn't throw a CEL... also strange that it's smart enough to rev 1'st to 4000rpm before switching to 3'rd??

 there goes my bellanger funds
maybe that tranny stink has for sale with a warranty 100k

I didn't know stickers had a tranny 4 sale... we'll see what DC says... hopefully it's not crazy cash... I may have to bench the truck... the old lady's still not thrilled I bought it.... :( ... I was just kiddin about the headers tho... I can't get traction on the thing as it is :O it was difficult to tell that 2'nd was gone... even in 3'rd the truck pulls hard... :D

talked to Dan...who wanted me to talk to Westminster Transmission(they built it)...

called Joe @ Westminster <real cool guy btw> going to take it down there next monday....

now I know why nowhat's name was ... nowhat :p ...

got the call from Westminster... ran some tests... says it needs a rebuild...
3K = best case scenario
3700 = worst... 3700 will include getting a new drum...

At this point... I think I'm going to drop it @ DC and get the 3 year warranty tranny through stinker...

I don't wanna spend 4K on tranny's every year :(

anyway that's the update.... sorry I'm not as Euphoric as Mike was at spending the cash :p

You are definitly in the big leagues with that truck, and at that level you gotta pay to play:(

I was telling Scott(azpyroguy) when he was looking at a TT viper that it better be built well otherwise it could just become a money pit.
You are still ahead IMO even if you have to replace the tranny, but I am sure that is still a problem with the wife:D aka voice of reason:D

I dont know where the hell it is. I had Mike Noid Adjust it for me. Why dont you come to Berzerkeley so we could show the supertank to all the tree huggers:D :p

I was worried for a sec Annu. You know, you adjusting things and all. Thought that was kind of frightening. Hmm, what's this 0-40 thingy for? Clicks kinda funny when I twist it!! Take that off and maybe it'll shift better. :) :) :) :) :)

That tranny was touted as "bullet proof"!!! That sucks Ryan.......you drive the truck 500 miles and it blows apart!!! I would be disappointed good deal or not........of course its not Nowwhats fault at all, I am not blaming Mike. How many miles on the tranny since Mike had it built? I guess it did not come with any warranty.?

If I'm not mistaken your transmissiom has a "Hand Turned" input shaft.
It may be only $4,000 to fix it, but alot more to replace it.
Might be a good thing to give Mike a call a fine out for sure....you don't want to give-it-away! For just a core charge.

If your tranny is shifting fine.\\

then the problem is in your valve body! or solenoids! the expensive part is ok!

Quick...
That's a great point... I figured Mike sold it because he didn't want to hassle with it anymore... I would rather not bug him with this... I was just going to call Dan <he's out this week>

BIGIKE...
it shifts fine ... once I get it too shift... <I hope you're right> I really dunno

MAUI...
Yeah... I knew what I was getting into when I bought it... just hoped I wasn't having probs 500 miles in :|...When I hinted to SOME type of warranty... Joe pretty much said the truck has too much power... and the NOS wasn't installed when he put it in... <shrug> Joe's been straight forward with me, I have no reason to distrust him but again, I was a little dissapointed

Joe had me smell the tranny fluid... and I admit it did smell burnt <usually a bad sign>.... but it was still red :D ... I added a Quart because it was low... but he also said it holds 12 quarts? <they installed a deeper pan??

Good thing I have a backup truck:dontknow:

I remember reading that when mike blew the engine with nos that the trans was hurt also. A shaft got bent I believe, and Mike had to have the trans rebuilt again. You might want to ask Joe about that.

I was pretty certain that Joe was incorrect... but I wasn't going to call him out, it would have served no purpose...
