San diego for now
I am a new SRT-10 owner, the previous owner had done alot of mods on the truck to include a oil and transmission temp pod guages on the left side. i was driving the truck from san diego to los angels and after a few hours on the highway the transmission temp guage started blinking at me at 203. is it suppose to be this hot. i dont really drive it a whole lot and have never seen it above 185. anybody have any insite?

That's pretty warm given our dedicated large cooler and highway driving, but still acceptable for ATF+4 I would say.

How does it do in stop and go traffic?

I'll see 200 or so in Phoenix with a stocker and ambient >100, but it will cool down to 180 (170 with the new Suncoast setup) once I get some good constant air flowing across it.

Mine runs very close to my engine coolant/oil temp 90% of the time,If I recall the ATF+4 is good up to around 225F,I'm sure someone will clarify a for sure!

its gonna run approximatly around the same as the engine oil temps in that area.

different climates is gonna read differently, going to a larger tranny cooler does help and going with a deeper tranny pan does also.

btw , congrats on ya buy:rock:

post up some pics, I love it , but be prepared we have some diehard oem fellas around:D

well the oil temp stays about 155-160, i don't really drive it for a prolonged amount of time but i have seen it get to about 180-185 (trans temp) with coolant temp peaking at around 200 mabe 210 in san diego stop and go traffic.

my hemi trans runs at 165 170 all day :D since i blew it up and had the rebuild

dont worry about it, there fine temps for SD
