May have stumbled onto something here. :dontknow: Awhile back I reported the problem of my cruise control “pulsing†by as much as 500 rpm. When engaging the cruise the rpm would jump 4-500 rpm then settle down to normal. But when cruising on flat ground, hills or downhill the thing would pulse. Up and down 3-400 rpm, like someone pressing on the gas and then letting off. Passengers asked what was going on. May have solved the problem. Making a long story short it would appear that the torque converter lock up solenoid was the culprit. When that was changed for the 3rd time the problem when away. Cruise kicking so smoothly that you hardly notice and no pulsing. I ain’t no mechanic but am smart enough to understand the process of elimination. Fix something and something else starts working then ya gotta figure that the fixed something must be related to the other something. Anyway, if you got the 48re and the cruise starts acting up you may want to look at the torque converter lock up solenoid.
