Guys, I need help I get a check engine light after I have running the truck on the street while it was raining. I check to see what the code is and its P0325 Knock sensor. I has a really bad idol, rpm's generally do not go below a grand, and while driving she starts kicking and bolting like a bronco.

The funny thing is when I get home I disconnect the battery for about an hour, then hook it back up and the check engine light turns off and she's purring agian as if nothing happened.

Anyone know what could be causing this problem? Has anyone had similar problems?

Sorry to hear that brotha. I am sure its nothing serious. At least ya didnt burn up ur clutch. lol

You should be just fine if you disconnected the battery and the light went out. That resets the computer, if it's running fine then you have nothing to worry about.

Did it come back after unhooking the battery at all or has it stayed off?

It didn't come back after I hooked the battery, but this has happened to me 3 times already. As you may know already by know Miami from June to the end of August it rains just about every f***ing day. I worried that if I continue doing this I'm going to hurt something.

Is she under warranty? If so take her in and have her checked out. I am sure it was nothing serious. Good luck , Just stay away from moorne of pembroke pines. They are a bunch of diks.

Could be a bad set of plug wires or a bad coil that shorts easily when it rains.

This would cause weak or intermittent spark to reach some of the cylinders during wet conditions, create shuddering, and also carbon build-up to trigger some knocking.

If this should happen again at night, or if you have access to a garage when it happens in daylight, pop your hood and look at the poorly running engine in the dark of night or a completely enclosed and unlit garage. Any ignition shorting/arcing should show up pretty easily at idle or when you rev the engine.

whatya think Sting?? Not a bad knock sensor....Im thinkin sparkplug wire.
If it's a bad plug wire then where is the engine misfire code? The misfire monitoring could be disabled with the reflash I guess.

He says it's only when it rains. I would try using a hose and getting just the top (and under the intake) of the engine wet while running and see what happens. If it's a wire it should show up then. Then spray the PCM and harness. Water could be getting into one of the connectors.
