Trouble finding alignment company after X-Metal Drop

So I took my truck to Sears Auto center to have an alignment done after the drop since they have the new latest and greatest alignment machine that has lasers and takes photos etc. Well they just called to tell me that 2 different mechanics looked at it and said its too low for them to align!!! WTF! Anyone had this problem?:dontknow:

Try a mom&pops shop, usually find better mechanics there (They will not give up on solving the problem as well). Those retail places give you some BS with alignments anyways.

dude, find a local race shop, and or a shop that does big wheel and tires. the upper control arm slots need to be elongated a bit, its all about finding a REAL mechanic who can do it. its an easy job.

Fort Laud is one of the Premier cities of Bling. Like Boomer said, make sure you lengthen the upper control arm slots, that is the key. That and a decent shop and you will be fine.

I had mine aligned by the Viper Tech at the local Dodge Dealer! He wasn't able to get it perfect but it is close enough where it goes strait down the road and there is no apparent tire wear!!

Someone out there will do it!!

i plan on getting the kit from Boomski as well is it something i can do myself and prep for the drop? is it a mater of just grinding a longer slot? and then getting it aligned

Who said they were getting it done? Most of them hacksaw the springs in half so they're riding of the bumpstops and go pogo-ing down the freeway.

LMAO!!!!! Thanks for the tips everyone including Boomer!!!! I'm sure I'll find a shop w/out much trouble! Is there anything that needs to be checked on the rear? I just thought these guys could do it because the did my bros RAM who also had 22's and was lowered. If the truck is out of alignment....will it run noticably slower in the 1/4?:dontknow:

Same here. Paid a little extra because it was so badly out of alignment. After 3,000 miles, no noticible tire wear.

you wont need anything done to the rear, its self centering with our blocks.

The lowering kit causes some trucks to be just outside of the recommended alignment specs. Not enough to hurt anything. Being just outside leaves a little bit of camber in your setup, which actually helps you at the track. Professional drag racers intentionally set in a little bit of camber for the 1/4 mile track.

Yeah but it'd seem that the camber would be putting extra drag on the tiiires thus slowing the truck down.

I had the same problem here finding a shop that could handle the 22's and the drop. Finally found a place which charged me $200. My dealer doesnt do alignments, they farm it out to another shop, which I find out cant do 22's!!! How's that!!!
