Truck Alignment Issues

Something else to check for is brake drag. You might not have a caliper fully disengaging. A collapsed brake line liner can act as a one way valve and hold pressure on the caliper. Could even be a rear E brake hanging. So just make sure everything is rotating freely.

I got Conti UHP so no directional in these tires, they even swapped the tires.....the guy at Dodge checked the tie rods and control arms..,.nothing noticeable....he said it could be something with the springs:dontknow: the alignment tech got it right into specs on all tires I was watching him do it, so I don't think if I took it anywhere else they can get it any better since it's in spec?
My thought is maybe it had something to do when I put in the rear lowering shackles??
I'm at a loss for ideas because the wheel is straight and the truck still has a pull to the right...

Did you have the problem before the rear shackles went on? If not, then I doubt your truck can be set to the factory alignmnent specs. I believe the alignment specs are set with the truck at the factory ride height, properly inflated tires, etc. If the rear is lowered, factory ride height is now altered which in turn may impact the front alignment settings. Tweaking caster and camber is probably what you need to do to fix the pull. I remember when I lifted my Chevy, everybody told me, yup it'll align back to factory specs. Yea, bull$hit, the final alignment specs weren't no where near factory.

I'll add...when I installed my 1/2" drop i had to shop around before I found an alignment guy who could do it properly. He was also the only one who had refused to go to the new(er) laser alignment equipment. His opinion was that his old fashion bubble equipment got him close and test drive and 30+yrs experience got it perfect. His opinion btw was the 1" drop in front was about the max our suspension could take and still bring everything back to where it should be. He had me modify my upper control slots 3x before he could get it where he wanted it....

It's called the Alignment Factory. There over here off of SW 120th st and SW 117th ave
Wow that's down there...I see why it's a drive for you now:D I may just have to take the ride tho for good work to be done!
OK... here's one for ya. Mine is an '04 RC, less than 5,000 miles, tires are in great shape with correct pressure and within the last two months it started pulling to the right.
Got any ideas?
Find a Shop that does Road Force Balancing it is the absolute best going. The system measures the Flex in each tires sidewalls and will tell the operator on which corner to mount the tire. Pushes the truck straighter and the tires are spun up to about 120 mph. Dead smooth at any speed. Once you do it you will never go back to a normal spin balance. :)

04 hemi quad 4x4 had the same issues and was never fixed. Multiple alignments from diff places. Dodge blamed it on the road.

anybody ever get their tires trued?????

That's something my dad use to do waaayyyy back when. I don't even know if you could find a place that trues tires anymore. It's been ages since I've seen a truing machine.

been years here also.

sort of scarey to see how much tread comes off sometimes, lol.

but it seems to not shorten the tread life for some reason

I believe the theory was that a trued (and balanced) tire would not have any up and down warble that a non trued tire might have. So it would wear more evenly instead of having hot spots that wore more quickly as the tire bounced up and down. Sort of like a shopping cart with a flat spot vs. a new wheel.

makes sense.

then i wonder if a trued tire & have it road force balanced would be a good combo???

It is in my mind, Like treating the symptoms instead of the ailment.

Then they are out of round, And defective. If this is on your 10? i would not run them. If they are on your 4X4 The only time you will notice it is on the freeway. :D

depends if the belts are out of round or the tread is inconsistent.

if its the belts, i agree.

just the tread, trunin would seem to be the way to go

Who is gonna step up and say, Put a new set of tires on an see what that does? Most tire shops will do it for you. If the tires are that far out i would not want to run them.

Make a small stand and attach a piece of chaulk to it. Jack the tire up and slowly push the stand into the tire while rotating the tire by hand. If the tire is "Out of Round" you will get a small patch of chaulk on the tire instead of a clean line around it.

Real easy and will answer your question. About 5 min per tire (not counting making the stand)

mine has pulled since the day I got it!.Little over 3 years ago!Quit trying to figure it out.keep the tires rotated and move on.
