Truck Cooling Questions

Ok i was going to buy the meth inject to cool the truck as of 10 min ago but then boomer called me and said it is bad on the engine and the only decent cooling is a fan? Now im lost and dont know what to do, it summer now and i really dont want my power robbed outta the engine due to heat. I need a solution to this and fast before it starts to get really hot outside.

As far as mods go im going to be putting on my exhaust sys (headers back) on, and also while adding some form of cooling. Ideas?

I searched the forums and didnt see much on the effects of meth on the engine but did see it worked well but from what boomer said it would not be good on her? SO LOST NOW.....................:confused:
 
for me i would love to have electric fans, i think the hydraulic ones we have now will be expensive to fix in the long run, you can set the electric ones up to run on t stat and run constant when its hot.
 
I would only consider the meth if the motor was under boost. If your just looking to keep the engine running cooler then I would do a t-stat and some form of cooling fan mod.

People will argue both sides of the meth issue. The reason some say not to use it is because it is corrosive to aluminum. Also, the intake manifold was never designed to have anything but air flowing through it. So the liquid will not evenly distribute to all the cylinders. That same argument is also applied to wet nitrous systems. IMO I wouldn't have a problem using meth, but only if I was boosted.
 
I NEED TO COOL THE BEAST TOO.I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN TALKED ABOUT A BUNCH,(DONT GO NUTS SILVERBACK).WHAT GOOD KITS ARE OUT THERE?
MAYBE I SHOULD DO A SEARCH?

Tstat and extra fan kit from jegs...can't be too hot there, was 98 on saturday here!!! Mine runs a 200 in that heat driving around town. Plus oil temp is always going to be high.
 
There are some threads on electric fans as add-ons somewhere...

The 172 t stat will belp.

Mike, the guys in the deep south run all summer without a major problem...they do get heat soak if they hot lap the truck at the track...for normal driving you may be making a mountain out of a mole hill...
 
172 thermostat would be the way to go. I never crossed 200 degrees (more like 180 degrees maybe) in the middle of summer running the truck hard for 20minutes at a time road racing in central Nebraska last year. I also didnt have the VEC nor water/meth. My bet would be to go with the thermostat and see how the truck responds. I think its your answer.

maybe I am wrong but I thought the Mopar headers were long tubes that bolt directly to the cat back:dontknow: you better call patrick he will hook you up.

They are long tubes but they come with the mid pipes on them from the kit i saw, there still two pieces. Imagine long tubes that bolt up to a cat back Dam! those would be some long tubes lol.
