Ok I need some help here......Does anyone know of someone (reliable) around the east-central Illinois area who can help me with my problems. I don't know much about this stuff but here we go: I believe the rear seal is leaking on my tranny.....I have lost alot of fluid in the last couple of months (all added up). Everytime I take the truck out and it sits there I can look under the truck and see about a quarter size spot of fluid..The fluid is a thick clearish jel substance......now I noticed the other day that I am spraying, what I would think would be tranny fluid, all over the inside of the front airdam (it is a reddish color). I'm also spraying oil from somewhere....it is only on the passenger side of the intake and all over the supercharger....I NEED SOME HELP---Sorry but this is pissing me off!!! I put alot of money into the truck and all these leaks????? I really would like to get this problem fixed as soon as possible---don't want to burn something up......PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks bikertat

i would probably take it to whoever built your engine up. those are some serious leaks!

good luck!

Tat...

the engine oil all over the SC May be from the dipstick tube...you build up crankcase pressure and it will blow out from there....E-benz had it happen 2 times this weekend...vipers on the dyno have been known to blow the dipstick across the garage...attach a retention spring to the dipstick to fix that one....

I thought I remember reading about that somewhere before......my biggest worry is all this fluid that I am accumulating in the front airdam and all this thick fluid on my garage floor.....I actually have been having these problems about 2 weeks after I got the truck home.....thanks for the reply....bikertat

is the pcv valve hooked up?

Gosh, I hate to be so stupid, but honestly I'm not sure:dontknow: ......I'm just hoping I can get this fixed before winter hits.....I only have 2600 miles on my truck and alot of time and money in it. It will sit all winter in the garage.....I almost hate driving it, because I'm not sure what kinda damage I'm doing to it.....but when you put all this money in it---hell ya want to drive it. I just wish I knew alittle more about vehicles.....sorry for my ignorance tho......bikertat

Look something like this? Well addressing the rear seal anyhow....

Sell me all of your performance mods and return your truck back to stock. That will fix all your problems. LOL :p :D

Hell, I'm thinking about selling the truck.......can't get it fixed so time to move on to something different....

Motor oil... :dontknow:

It may come off an oily clearish film, but it's been heated, and has had the elements hitting it, road dirt, rain, and thinned by the time your getting it on a rag. IMHO :dontknow:

That covers the rear main anyhow. I am assuming your not pulling red fluid from there?

bikertat, I'm not sure how far away Danville is from me but I'd be happy to take a look at your leaks for you. And maybe fix them if possible ;) I am near the WI/IL boarder in Woodstock. (BTW, I'm a tech at a GM dealership)

The red fluid could be a leaky power steering cooler, it is in that location...the rear could be a rear main, or is it a slave cylinder? cant tell from the pics, but either way, you need to get it fixed :(

That's definitely trans fluid at the back of the trans. Your other fluid in the front :dontknow: Maybe antifreeze.

The red fluid might be power steering fluid, i'm not sure though. It could be coming from the eng cooling fan. My fan is starting to kind leak. If you get underneath the truck and look straight up you might see some there coming out the fan. The fans on our truck are hydraulic driven. This is the only thing that comes to mind for that front red oil leak(besides dip stick)
