well for you guys that know me. I have been struggling money wise since I quit working offshore. I traded in my jeep and srt 10 on a dodge 4 door 4 wheel drive. My payment is 1200 a month. Before I was late on any payments I called them and told them I would not be able to make that big of a payment. They told me that there was nothing they could do. So now I am 3 months behind on my payments and have called them 1 time a week for two months telling them to come get the truck or I could take it were they wanted me too. Today I call again and they tell me that they have no means of coming and getting the truck and that I should just put a for sale sighn on it and park it. I told them I live in a town of 300 people and there was a remote chance of me selling it. So she tells me they would give me a couple months to try.
I have never heard of a company just telling somebody thats already 3 months behind on payments just to hang on to it for a couple of months.

just seems wierd that a big company like Wells Fargo would say this but, thats what they are telling me

it seems like they would just drop my payment to my comfort level and let me extend the loan instead of saying no and just let it sit here without me paying nothing

they are probably facing a ton fo these problems, and like most banks they have given up on it. Just keep driving it, but don't be surprised if its not there one morning!

I have tried everything for them to just drop the payment , and they just keep saying no.

$1,200 a month? I'd BEG them to come get it.. ;)

Hope things work out for you SOON.. tough times suck for most of us!

I am getting back on track but dont think I will ever be able to afford that kind of payment in the near future. I am acctually happy in life. I at home with my wife every night and we now live in what used to be our second home. It is a nice cabin in the mountains of western NC. I have no complaints about life except I am sorry for not being able to pay my dept. We now make our mortgage payment and wifes car payment and the small bills with no problem. But just cant afford the truck anymore. I am saving up for a truck I can pay cash for , nothing fancy just something to go hunting and fishing in.

Stick, we still love you Brother, come to the Chattanooga GTG on June 7th, and have a big ass time, we would be glad to have you. Been wanting to meet you for a while now.

Don't leave any personal items in it that you want to keep. That way if they do take it, you won't be scrambling to find it to get your things back.

Glad to hear.. money comes and goes throughout a lifetime, but happiness is worth so much more. Keep up the positive outlook and I'm sure you'll easily find whatever you need!

Most of yall know what I do for a living, Pooooolice. Repos are at an all time high in the Atlanta Area, as well as fights with the Repo Man

The repo man told me finance companies have so many vehicles and they cant sell them. No one is buying, except the more expensive cars and they are selling for less than is owed :D

If they repo it becomes a loss debt for the finance company, which hurts them somehow, not sure how. Some finance companies are lowering payments and extending the time. Some are up to eight years, just to get some money coming in. Some are happy if you just make the interest payment.

So, hell I would keep the truck and send them a little money when you can.

Well what happens is that when the bank gives you the loan , and my loan was 49500 for my truck brand new in 04, they finance that amount, however if i did not make the payments, and the repo man came and got it. The bank now can only sell it what the Blue book value is.which might be 25000, so that is 24000 lose that they initially gave DODGE the money for the truck to come off the lot.

But yea take all your things out of the truck, glove box. they might tell you hold on to it, but that is messing up the credit and they will come get it when you least expect it.

STICK what part of Western NC are you living in?

I'd like to believe they are laying off of you because you were being honest with them Stick. But the bottom line is banks are in business for making money. The person that told you this could have said something that is false because she was in a good mood. The financial institution she works for may or will have another take on the situation. I would do a combination of what Ken and others have said thus far.. Make whatever payments you can, keep personal items out of it and try not to place yourself in a situation that you'd be stuck like Chuck without a vehicle somewhere. Don't be shocked if it isn't where you park it one day. It's just a material item. To me it looks like you have the happiness you need with your wife and home. Many like me only dream of a happy marriage and a house in the mountains. Keep your head up Stick. When one door closes God opens... :dontknow: a window or something.

Thankyou guys, I live in Maggie Vallley NC. And yes I took everything out before I was even behind on the payments.

Might I humbly, suggest you pen a letter outlining your circumstances, and send it certified mail. At least you will have proof of your offer to the finance company. Maybe you know an attorney whom you can explain the situation to, who would be willing to write the letter. I'm sure you will get a response either way. (My attorney charges 25 dollars for each letter I have him write). Also, try to contact a loan officer at the bank, get the name of someone of import to address your comments to.

Get your tail back on the rigs!

a years pay in 6 months!

good luck bro....

National Oilwell is hiring.

I was a captain of a commercial dive boat, we worked on the pipelines and the rigs underneath the waterline. The reason I quit was to be with my family, yea the money was real good. The majority of people that work out there end up in divorce or there wife is getting something on the side. I worked on boats for 16 years and just had enough. I have been married for 8 years now and want to stay married. I like playing fetch with my dogs every day while smelling the cooking coming from the house as my beautiful wife is lookig out the window... I took the little things in life for granted for to long. Money is not everything to me any more

yes that is honorable. Stick to your guns, but i believe you should do a mixture of everything everyone has said and the kitchen sink. SO what truck is this again?

it is a dodge 4x4 4 door 1500. It has 12000 miles on it and looks like i just drove it off of the lot.

Damn, that is a sweet @$$ truck. Yea I am orginially from Hendersonville/asheville NC, if you know where that is. They still have Ghost Town or am i thinking of a different spot. at least you live in the mountains, I always love driving up 26 going through the mountains.

Shit I would take over payments, but that is another way of doing it.

call the loan company back, demand to speak to a supervisor, not a collection agent, the supervisor can refinance your loan, collection agents are basically going off a cue card with their answers.

they dont want the truck back,if they get it back they will sell it at a huge loss and your credit will be charged off, furthermore whatever balance that is still owed on the loan they will sell to a collection agency who will charge u interest and go after u for that balance for years
