P1499-HYDRAULIC FAN SOLENOID CIRCUIT - SRT10

Open or shorted condition detected in the hydraulic cooling fan solenoid
control circuit


truck is throwing this code...is this mean there is no connectioj to the electric fan?

please advise

This could get tricky if you don't have a scan tool,
First check the fuse(#2-30 amp)If O.K.,Check the grd(black wire from fan module)Check the connector at fan.If all show good,scan tool is needed,Possible pcm,integrated power module or wiring problem.
Check all connections that might of been disturbed during buildup.Sorry
 
Technically, the fan is hydraulically driven via the power steering pump. But there may be some type of bad connection that tells the valve to open and allow fluid to flow to turn the fan. I know this helps you in no way but it makes me feel better. That is all. Good luck.
