viperpwred, the SCT is simply a Hand Held Computer... It holds the tunes from the tuner, they are not year specific.

The tunes that are loaded inside are for your truck specific (the VIN has to be coded into the tune) so just getting one for a 06 QC will not work. Even if you had a SCT you would need to get a tuner to setup the tunes for you.

Best Case you are looking at about $400-$450 to buy a used SCT (they can only be used on Three (3) VINs before they lock up) and have the tunes put inside.

Torrie (Get with Tony JTSV Performance) sells them New for right at $500.... :) Best to just get a new one through Tony and Torrie... :)

just specifying year cuz didn't know if the ports were diff or not
 
No difference in the ports, the SCT will fit all years of our trucks.. :)

My mistake I thought you had it mixed up and was trying to explain.. My mistake.. :(

Actually Sandy there is a difference between the 04/05 and 06....Make sure the SCT you buy is updated with a patch to make earlier SCT models work with the 06 ECM.....I ran into this with the SCT I bought from KRC....luckly Torrie was doing the tuning on my truck....any other tuner would have given up..

Torrie worked with it for hours before he realized it did not have the patch to make it work with 06 models...fortunely he was the one who came up with the patch for SCT and was able to fix it...

Thanks Man, I had absolutely NO Idea of that. I have been reading these SCT threads for well over a year and never read that or simply missed it...

Sorry, I didn't mean to put out bad info, would never do it intentionally .... :(
 
not a single one??? i've been finding ford SCT tuners for $100 on CL
 
yeah big difference between a ford and the srt-10 also. and a lot less quantity

yes in the vehicles themselves but the tuner for our trucks are the same as for other dodge models as well according to the SCT site. regardless still i found another SCT for our trucks on CL for $225.. might go with that.

dude stop being cheap and just save up the 500 for a new one with tunes. If you cant afford to mod you wont be able to afford when it breaks...

that i can afford.. its a wierd situation but breakdowns are not the issue for me.. good point tho
