Ok guys, has anyone built their own turbo set-ups on these trucks? If so, who? If there is any info out there to be had on fabricating a single or twin set-up on these trucks i would like to read up on them... its certainly my long term goal..

Before the Turbo 101 session begins, I get the facts that stock motor, stock anything, will need to be beefed, there are 1 million + things to consider, etc etc... I have fabricated my own front mount turbo on one of my previous 4th gen Camaros... and now with all that engine bay I cant help but wonder what directions people have gone with hot sides, cold sides etc... Or maybe there just isnt enough of these trucks out there that people have fab'd their own set-ups...... :dontknow:

i think everyone has built their own. i dont believe anyone makes a "kit" for our trucks. i know a few of the guys just get bassanis and turns them around for the turbo headers..save you a piss load of money...

i think "snake guts"(might be the wrong screen name?:dontknow:) was doing his own twin setup, and that the only home built setup i know of. If you did your 4th gen fbody you shouldn't have any trouble with the 10, i looked into it a while back and to me it looked like upside down factory viper car manifolds would be fairly simple to use for turbo headers, the collector is right in the middle of the engine, however i'm not 100% positive they'll even bolt to the head upside down. i think if you can do the fab work yourself you could knock one out pretty cheap, a cummins intercooler bolts right into our trucks(the 10's are setup like a diesel from the firewall forward which is why there are 2 battery boxes)

It is alot of work.

Talk to Tony or Justin or even Roe racing.

There are a few places that can get you the manifold flanges "Burns Stainless."

Best thing to do, if you want to do it your self is get some Turbo build books and talk to any and everyone who has done it before.

You got to plan it out and take your time.

I have been running out of time for my build but am still making progress.

Have had two kids since I started my build so my spare time has shrunk.

The kids always say "dad's fixin the truck." LOL!:D

Great input guys… definitely cool (no pun intended) that the Cummins IC will fit in the truck.. good call!

This will be most certainly a long term project, and yeah I know I can make it happen fairly economically (as far as Turbo builds go)… Just need to learn all I can about how to set it up on the 10, and how best to do it and make sure it doesn’t effect the AC or anything else. 2.5” or 3” hot side?… to a single, or twins? I also need to spend some time determining T4 T6 , what size compressor, AR, and what size wastegate to match, etc etc… Anyone who has messed with Turbos knows how many things have to work in harmony… But it’s a fun process and I enjoy the learning as well… Thanks for the input guys, keep it coming.

Oh and if anyone comes across any pics... please do share! haha!
