From memory, we havent lost a engine to a paxton yet and possibly a roe as well. Not sure about onefast's deal.

I lost my engine with a Roe on it. Not ultimatley sure why it went bad, but it looked like i was running lean on #2, so it could be attributed to a tuning issue... go figure.

That seems to be the M.O. on these trucks..

bad tune = boom, good tune = zoom.


And Kyle as for turbo's,,,, man your looking upwards of 30,000 with a proper engine... that's not counting anything else, Fuel, Tranny or Clutch, Rear-End, Drag Radials... it goes on and on. Turbo's are serious cash on these trucks. Sorry man i just hate bursting your bubble, but i'm pretty sure my Turbo dreams are long over.. :dontknow:

Thanks for all the replies:rock: I wasn't planning on buying it I just wondered if it was worth a crap or not I plan on doing something like what tim 2933 has or going with the roe late this year possibly:dontknow:

One of the biggest tuning situations with these motors, is that there is 10 cylinders. With that many cylinders, air and fuel distribution is critical, and very uneven. Most think you can just add or remove fuel and timing and your good....but that's not the case.

I would not use any 'fuel injector' in the intake to supply required fuel to the motor; that is a disaster waiting to happen. Injectors would be the proper way of supplying fuel, along with lines, rails, pumps, etc. I DREADED having to upgrade the fuel system on my car, but I knew It was a time-bomb ticking if I didn't....it took me 3 days to custom build a fuel system, but its worth every ounce of time knowing it has what it needs and plenty more.

I don't think the STS is a poor system, I just think tuning, boost, and fuel situation needs to be taken care of

Deibs, sorry about your engine, I forgot you had a Roe.

Blake had so many problems with his truck.........as I remember it was a huge build?:dontknow:

My point was our trucks have seen better success with a Roe or Paxton vs the turbos, thats all.

Kyle, I like what Tim has done with his truck as well.......with the proper builder that would be a route I would consider too.

everything i own has a turbo on it i am very confident with the builder and tuner!! the only reason i am doing it is because its a built motor!! we all know stock internals suck....when the truck is done i am sure there will be tons of pics!!!!!
