Seems you couldnt get a simple question answered so here goes bro.

1. you will need to drain coolant, looking dead at the front goto the left side of the radiator, crawl under the truck and look on the engine side of the radiator and you will find a pet cock.

open drain and remove raditator cap, drain out about 1 gallon and a half, close valve.

remove upper radiator hose and clamp with large set of pliers.

The thermistate housing is just below the upper hose where it atatches to the engine, remove all bolts, and yes they are a pain.

Pay attention to how the thermostate is posistioned and replace thermostate.

replace housing , hose, and be sure pet cock is tightened on bottom of radiator.

pour in new coolant or filtered old.

now you will notice a small bleeder on top of the thermostate housing, slightly open it till coolant weeps from it,

Crank truck and let it run , I found a socket works best , for openinn and closing the bleeder valve. Slowly open it till no more bubbles come out ,, then tighten it up.

what you are doing is getting all the air out of the coolant system, top off coolant in radiator and overflo jug.

One note also , you can remove the radiator cap and use a suction device such as ons used for kerosene cans to remove coolant, because all you need is enough to remove the upper hose.

some coolant will come out when youremove the housing , but not alot.

hope this helps bro.

Changed the title in case someone was searching for help on how to change one :) Thanks for the info stink...

Were getting a fairly large database of good search-able information now

Sweet man thanks a lot, but i just brought my truck to work with me and our mechanic helped me do it. I did suck out all i could but our hose on our sucker was only about a foot or two so i didnt get much. I got the thermostat on but to be honest i cant tell that much of a difference. Anyone got any pictures or something of boomers pusher fans? Also there was some guy on the t-stat thread that I started saying he taped into the stock fan control and was able to do that. That sounds like a real good option too if he releases the info.

I really appriciate your time and effort to help me out!

Thanks,
Jake
