Twin Turbos

those GTK's now are top of the line ceramic bearing and all, but now i can do better than there priceing bud;)

Just did too much reading, I cant see anything anymore. It seems that the GTK1000's would be the way to go. I thought they were bigger than they are. They also use a external wastegate, so in a twin turbo do you use 1 big wastegate or 2 smaller ones?

Well I think I better have you send me a set too. Add them to the pallet, coated please. Also send me a picture if possible of your oil pan so I can get a idea for drain line locations.

These are basically similar questions the builder was talking about. First I need to decide turbo sizes and boost pressures. Sounds like 20 #'s is max and 76mm or bigger turbo's. Then with these numbers they can decide a proper compression ratio for me. What made you decide on 88mm's.

Recommendation of the shop and turbo builder. I want 1300hp at the wheels, and the 88's will let me get there w/o working the turbos as hard... less heat. The main advantage of smaller hair driers is that they spool up faster, that's not a problem with our engines. Also if I decide to make a few more improvements to the engine down the road I could turn them up some more w/o changing turbos.

One turbo being good for 1200 maxed out doesn't mean two are good for 2400, that's not how the math works. If your goal is a max of 1200hp then I would go with 76's. If you are going to run a manual transmission I'd stay with 76's. More than that... go bigger.

My engine is 8.87:1 compression.

....man I wish I could talk this smack with you guy's. But it does make for very interesting reading. I always enjoy watching you guys push the envelope......god's speed.

I think he is hanging loose at the moment the currency exhange is got him in a little pickle, well not actually , but the rate isnt good at the moment,

Tony's right the exchange rate blows right now. I dont really need the turbo headers until next winter when I decide to do this. I cant afford a engine build and turbos in one shot. I just figured since he already has a pallet of stuff for me Id get a set now to save on shipping. But when 1 USD costs me 1.30 CAD to buy it makes me just want to wait a bit.
