Hi All -

We have a issue on some thing that contractors hired by UP railroad is doing, and its causing some severe restrictions on access to public lands that have been used for 30+ years... and things are turning into a safety hazard for all parties involved.

They refuse to talk to us, every time we call we get public relations, and they blow us off.

They are telling the BLM one thing, us another, and the media something else... and are being extreemly secretive about their actions, trying to slip under the radar.

They have also made comittments to the BLM (Bureau of land management) that they would not restrict access to these lands until at least the 2009-2010 season giving the BLM and us time to come up with an alternate solution.

We need to find some executive contacts who will talk to us and give us straight answers and abide by the comittments they have made.

Any help would be appeciated.

We have allready tried the 800 and LD numbers on the website in Omaha... with no luck..

Nice... =) Thanks... well let you all know if we make any headway..

:D It's what I do for a living.... get in touch with folks that don't want to "be in touch". ;)

If all else fails, dial the main prefix (402-544-XXXX) and start replacing "XXXX" with numbers (I usually start with "0157"... dunno why, just seems to always work. LOL). .... Once you get a warm body :D, play stupid like you got the wrong extension. Have a list of folks in front of you that you might want to speak with, and ask to be transferred to one of them. :) (The office you want usually won't answer the phone when caller id shows "outside line"... but they usually take the bait when the call comes from another office/department. ;) )

We keep getting voice mails, but have made some headway and some execs are coming out to the dunes today from UP to talk with the BLM and us about the problem.

We have been able to get them to allow the removal of some dirt, and our attorney found a legal precadant regarding a right-of-way usage, and public easement.....
