I use to use firefox only .. got hit to many times and cost me a 900$ PC laptop ... i used virus and malware secuity suites back then Norton to malware bytes .. crap malware still got in .. The last crap that got my laptop even came back an hour after reconfiguring it back to original .. pop up pop up pop up virus BS every 2 minutes . No idea what the hell it was but after spending days reconfiguring and loading my business programs . Well the laptop hit the floor and I went directly to the store and bought a new laptop .. I never went back to firefox and found duck duck go , and used it now for many years ,, safari is my second browser and never had a problem . I use it in private mode . Also went to apple devices.

Malwarebytes was a good program. If you use Firefox as built then you will run into issues. Have to get plug-ins that can be further modified. AdBlock can be updated with whole lists of things to block.

I just remove malware bites from my laptop .. I only use the laptop about once a year .. Malware bytes has never caught anything including on the previous laptop i mentioned .. adblock has been decent since I started using it decades ago . Sure does help clean crap up .. over the decades I probably tried everthing in the way of security , plug ins , paid and free .. they never stopped anything , just pop up warnings .. Then I would have to fix it even to the point of reconfiguring back to factory which usually worked until the last laptop .. I never could find out what that trojan was ! Some kind of a back dorr BS that gave access through a port and it was to late to repair i guess ..
Microsoft had and may still have a security suite that was excellent . It had many tools to check tons of stuff .. it showed proceses % usages , tracking internet hops , registry and a lot more .. I think its still on my laptop somewhere lol ..
